passmosster Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Pratley will be the first name on the team sheet for Hull. Don't understand all this anti crap. I mean he doesn't come from Bolton like Roy Greaves or Nicky Hunt. Quote
RUREADY2ROLL Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Pratley will be the first name on the team sheet for Hull. Don't understand all this anti crap. I mean he doesn't come from Bolton like Roy Greaves or Nicky Hunt. He is not good enough; came back at Fleetwood and was excellant but has been poor recently. Quote
Casino Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 while everybody else has been fantastic its like this talk of swapping him for buckley that might be a tactical masterstroke but they really couldnt be much more different i bet pratley cant wait for trotter to come back Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 After several seasons its not unusual, nor unreasonable for fans to have developed a view on a player. If folk aren't enamored with pratley or anyone else, it doesn't make them somehow "anti" the team. Booing the player is different of course, but I reckon if you did a fans poll, the majority don't rate Pratley. Quote
Casino Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 doesnt make them right and ill tell you something for nowt the impact he had on the team when he came back in last season, without any games behind him was massive i frankly dont give a fcuk whether pratley is good or bad, booed or not what i do know is that theres retards who don't see him play screaming for his removal from the team Quote
frank_spencer Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Pratley was frustratingly poor on Saturday as we're a few others. For the most part he's an ok central midfielder. I don't think he's captain material by a long stretch. At the moment a lack of options means he plays. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Course it doesn't make them right. Nor wrong. Its opinion. The effect he had last year was beneficial for a bit, but it tailed off- and the performance last game was as good as I'd seen in a while, and he didn't start. Its far too easy to make a judgement on a game or two. After several seasons though, barring a little spell under Lennon, I not seen much to rave about. Quote
madthatter Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 (edited) Pratley's never really impressed me although, as Casino says, that spell last year was pretty impressive and timely. Not a bad player, certainly puts a shift in, but just a bit average. When we signed him for the Prem I admit I was underwhelmed. Edited August 23, 2017 by madthatter Quote
ex_midlandwhite Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 I can't see how Buckley can be a direct replacement for Pratley? It surely would mean going 451 as Karacan and Buckley in a midfield 3 is going to struggle most weeks? I definitely want to see Buckley playing but I do think it will be at the expense of two up front Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Who knows; seemed to do OK last night against a strong team. Quote
Take Hunt Off Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Pratley is one paced , laborious on the ball & spends a lot of time on all fours sometimes the refs buy it & he gets the free kick after several such incidents the refs start waving play on as they realize they have been conned. I don't boo or heckle players but I am entitled to my opinion & don't see what this guy brings to the team apart from covering acres of turf usually without the ball . Maybe he could become a latter day Kevin Nolan & play behind the striker but as a midfielder he is a cul de sac . Everyone is entitled to their opinion as long that opinion doesn't degenerate into abuse. Quote
Guest Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Who knows; seemed to do OK last night against a strong team. Against a Wednesday side who had barely played any football we still looked alarmingly open, even first half. Yes we attacked far better, but that midfield playing every week would not get us many points. I do think Buckley adds something but would be suicide to start him at Hull in midfield. Quote
ErnestTurnip Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Honestly felt to me like we played more of a 4 last night and Darby was far more comfortable staying at right back with Little in front of him. The work and effort and desire was there last night and little things like Wilbraham looking leaner and fitter than he did against Crewe make me think that PP and his staff are doing the right things away from match day even if it sometimes goes tits up like it did last Saturday. Lostock Whites Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Defence has to improve and have a look at the mistakes they have been making so far. It seems opposite to last season, we can certainly score goals but have a serious issue keeping them out at the moment. If we can just refrain from making silly errors, we will be getting much more positive results. Quote
fishbulb Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Did Sheffield Wed have a goal disallowed really, really late? Quote
CMW Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Did Sheffield Wed have a goal disallowed really, really late? No but it seems that 1has been struck off Quote
waffer cup 07 Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 It was a bit manic at the end, but i'm sure they had one ruled out for offside Quote
DaveTheRave Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 It was a bit manic at the end, but i'm sure they had one ruled out for offside Did they? Quote
Biggish Dave Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Balls to that. Don't care about it being a new ground Quote
