leigh white
Emma Chambers who played Dawn French's sidekick Alice in The Vicar of Dibley, 53. Only talking about her the other week when I questioned that Lisa McGrillis was the most thickest girl ever on TV playing the part of Kelly in " Mum", and somebody said Alice was thicker. MalcolmW
Sir Roger Bannister . His most treasured medal was the only one his father won - for the mile at Colne Secondary School. "All my children and nearly all my grandchildren were born in London or the south of England, though I sometimes like to feel proud of the vigour given to me by my Lancashire blood" - from "Twin Tracks", p22. Gonk
Something lost in translation - they are honouring a 4 year extension he agreed and was due to sign. Still very laudible Edited March 5, 2018 by Gonk
Site Supporter MickyD Posted March 6, 2018 Site Supporter Share Posted March 6, 2018 Something lost in translation - they are honouring a 4 year extension he agreed and was due to sign. Still very laudible 'Rest of the contract' does seem a bit more plausible. Assuming his daughter lives until 80, do we really expect they'd still be paying the wages of a player who, even if he'd played until a natural retirement, would still have finished his playing career 50-60 years earlier? Youri McAnespie
He had a good innings so I'm sure he wouldn't mind the fact that this likeness (below) on his Wiki had me guffawing this morning more than he ever did in life. My old man used to like him though... R.I.P.
Site Supporter only1swanny Posted March 12, 2018 Site Supporter Share Posted March 12, 2018 Met him in Liverpool HMV in 2006, old man just tottering around, asked him to sign a Dodd CD and he turned around, ruffled his hair and seemed to lose about 20 years... Moderators Carlos Posted March 12, 2018 Moderators Share Posted March 12, 2018 Saw an interview with him, his shows went on for hours, said there was a woman on the front row diddling herself off. How tattyfilarious.
Site Supporter Biggish Dave Posted March 12, 2018 Site Supporter Share Posted March 12, 2018 I saw him at Stockport Plaza on the day of the London terror attacks last June. Sweep
Not sure if he had different "levels" of humour depending upon the audience. I assume this to be the case, i have only ever seen him on TV, when he was always a bit shit. I’m assuming his live show must be very different for him to have kept going for so long
