I remember them banging on all the coaches... until they came across Walkden Whites stood outside theirs

Really not sure, will be taking little un, and don't fancy getting in the melee

Don’t know if it was the last time we played them in the league but it went off about 10 years ago. All the way up to moat house pub.

I got my head caved once again in the midlands. This time by a traffic cone.

They ended up bailing over fences.

been to WBA a few times before then and never seen owt like mither, normally went to that Vine pub and everything seemed friendly

that day, walking to the ground, just walking down the street, mate got barged by some guys looking for it with anyone, was moody inside the ground as well, and after you sensed it was going to go off after - came as no surprise when heard about the scraps at the hotel

Late 70's, West Brom were the first mob i saw at Bolton who had a large number of black lads with them but they got scattered all over Manny Rd.

Been there lots of times & have never seen any trouble at all, but have heard about the events at the hotel & roundabout. My first trip there was against Cardiff when we took thousands & i think they only brought one coach....it snowed, we won. Happy days.

Aye it just seemed one of them days for them. Didn’t matter who they were playing, they obviously had a game set of lads that particular season and were after anyone.

Always thought they were maybe all out for us due to something in the past, maybe at the plays offs but don’t remember anything.

They were after it all day. Always remember their main lad at front, big unit with a bald head and blue stone islan fleece. He was rolling round with my mate Pete in middle of the dual carriageway :D

They were attacking cars all the way up the road till they hit that pub. Our lot bailed then came back at em.

Yeah I think it was that game. I remember leaving the ground and thinking the atmosphere outside felt like we'd equalised in the last minute. Few west Brom looking for a fight then some bloke emerged and offered me and a few mates out. He was on the brave pills with hundreds of west Brom finds behind him. Proper moody outside.

Fairly sure that game was Feb 2003.

Finished 1-1 and they scored with the last kick of the game.

Think Mendy scored 4 us.

Pedersen I think and Russel Hoult in goal for them

Had a mate at uni who was WBA, went in the away end at Sheff Utd with him, pretty low turn out but there was one bloke, small black but massive build, everyone seemed to know him and were shaking hands and saying hello

Asked who it was he said "thats black john, local legend because he took on a wolves mob on his own armed with bricks"

I thought it was but there was 2nd replay against Fulham and that might have been Brum

Second replay was definitely at St. Andrews. Pretty certain that I met Peter Reids brother that night who was an absolute doppelganger of him?

My old man got drop kicked in the back and his head split open as he hit the deck when some kipper ties thought we were Fulham. Backed off when they heard our accents and, just at that moment, I noticed a pile of blokes heading into a pub and shouted words to the effect of "We're not fucking cockneys - that's them bastards there!" and they charged off after them. Got the old boy and his mate out of there sharpish in case the fuckers came back.

West Brom game defo feb 2003 which finished 1-1. There was write up on BEN on the Tuesday. 30 fans fighting, no arrests, 1 Bolton supporter taken to hospital but refused to assist police.

Biggish is/was very friendly with some of WBA’s top boys from watching England.

There was 1 game we came out of the away end, up the side and then got on to the main road behind their main end and it was moody as hell. Can't remember which game, but we had parked at the hotel the other side of the motorway, so a long walk back.

Same happened after we won a night match there in last minute in 98. Gardner scored. Edgy coming out of away end. Then moody all the way along Birmingham Road to the other side of the roundabout on the M5

Just been looking and it’s 7 years since we played there.

Time flies, seems like yesterday.

Anyway, first game, good prices and not too far, so surely we will sell out.

Been Hawthorne’s 3-4 times never had any bother. Remember getting beat 3-1 week after beating Liverpool in fa cup.

Remember play offs coming back from 2-0 down at their place went mental when we equalised. We then hammered them 3-0 in second leg at Reebok. Always found St. Andrews and old Victoria ground miles more intimidating.

Read their hoolie book sons of the Albion. Bit about Bolton in there. First game at ours in early 90s they reckon they ran Bolton. Game we won 3-0. Anyway looking forward to game at theirs, we should defo sell out. Think it’s a good opener for us. No pressure. Pretty close. Cheap. Hopefully get a full noisy Bolton end
