only thing I can think is that after a player sale and promotion that saw increased tv revenue and crowds, and another upcoming transfer window, he's thought "I'm having some of this, no need to sell right now"

but then why produce the brochure that got leaked

who knows, scepticism has always been the best policy

Sorry but that makes no sense at all. The club had a massive amount of unpaid suppliers and a running deficit estimated at £5-6million. It was only the Madine sale that saved our bacon and its hard to see how he could have anticipated that in October 2017.

He may have been in hopeful discussions with somebody at the time and wanted to divert all attention away from it.

In January of 2018, before the Madine deal was finalised, beneficial ownership of two of KA's Inner Circle companies was transferred to Russian oligarch Vasily Anisimov. Neither company amounted to anything but there must have been some purpose or reasoning behind it.

Well, we have around 19 days until the winding up order from HMRC, which will not be extended due to our previous issues and also the past history of companies run by Ken Anderson. So he has that short period of time to find a solution. This doesn't include any issues arising from non payment of players (who are protected by the football league), and non payment of staff. I suppose staff could refuse to help in regards to match day, players could go on strike (I suppose), so if we fail to fulfill any fixtures, there may be other penalties (not sure what this could be).

With no money left in the coffers, as has been said before on here, it looks very bleak for us. I hope that the issues that have arose can be negotiated around, and a positive solution will arise. Remaining positive.

Hope you are correct, as for our front 2?, trade descriptions and all that.

'front 2' would fail advertising standards by exaggerating the  number.

... and their position

dunno how many goals he was on but maybe Lee was generating interest behind the scenes for player sales in Jan

or maybe he'd seen how much he could get for hosting gigs the following summer, they were announced in November

all guesswork like

but yeah, maybe we were close to a deal at the time and it was all a smoke screen, I've heard stories in the past he got to the point of agreeing a price that included his £5M pay day, but don't recall the date

do you think we were ever going to at a small profit "in the current financial year" as he claimed in Aust?

I think if Ken was asked by someone showing serious potential interest that they wanted him to ensure no publicity that's exactly what Ken would have done - especially if it happened to be an associate of a Russian oligarch.

Ken's claim that he expected to be able to show a small profit in 2017/18 fits in entirely with the estimated operating losses, the Madine money and  the £imillion interest credit, leaving a bit of room, of course, for a chunky consultancy fee that this time would go to Ken,  not Holdsworth.

The training ground that is supposedly shut with all staff sent home has suddenly sprung into life in the last 20-30 minutes - floodlights are on and maybe 30-40 cars have parked up - wondering if its a players meeting ? Anyone know of anything going on down there tonight ?

Got me thinking earlier; I've never been in the place, but why would they have a generator and not just use mains leccy?

Because that would not fit with the conspiracy nuts

I’d like to think the utter silence from both Ken and the “bidders” is actually a sign that all is not lost.

unfortunately, no wages and the fact that Ken usually can’t keep his trap shut suggest things are rather dire.

nowt supporters can do other than hope something good is going on and silence is a must.

one things for sure, the silence can’t go on much longer.

if it has collapsed surely the prospective buyers would be shouting from the rooftops

more guesswork, obvs

As I’ve said this is where I’m at. Its bizarre that nobody is saying anything. So bizarre I’m assuming it’s all ok and tomorrow it will all be ok.

When my lad was at the academy a few years ago and we had money issues, one night training was off as they hadn't  got the money to pay the fuel supplier whose fuel was used to power the generator !!

They will have found something in due diligence. That will need some clarity/explanation. It is usually something not important as why hide something then invite due diligence but they are right to question it. All such discussions are covered by NDA. Unfortunately if they have found something big they also would not say anything. The silence is worrying because it leaves a chasm to be filled by rumours but no fucker really knows at this stage.

Why would prospective buyers say anything official? They haven’t even officially revealed who they are...they won’t make a statement about a deal even if it has collapsed.

I suspect this is still a live negotiation but also that there is significant risk it won’t happen. Given we know nothing about the potential buyers, ie those with the money not their representatives it’s hard to know whether they are chancers or the real deal in any case......

Think it was never connected when it opened to save money - its on green belt land and was a fair distance from mains supply and was only being used by academy staff , over the years its been expanded , the first team have relocated from Euxton ,  floodlights have been installed and it now must cost more to be off grid annually than to pay to have it connected to the mains

Same situation applies with water - there is no connection to mains drainage its all septic tanks , which must cost a fair bit to empty

Mains connections are a lot closer now than when it opened given all the housing that's gone up on the old British aerospace cricket pitch
