Site Supporter MickyD Posted January 13, 2020 Site Supporter Share Posted January 13, 2020 To think, that was ten or so years before we peaked as well. Brilliant time to be a Wanderers fan and glory days to come.

Players and management should take a bow.

Burndens Bogs
Nice to see a team who actually pass the ball to each other. Great days.

H
Working in Gloucester at the time. Went to the game on a Liverpool supporters club coach. Excellent.
Duck Egg
Well that was an emotional 10 minutes. Watched the Liverpool highlights and the Reading play off victory followed on straight after. 25 years ago and I was still punching the air when De Freitas equalised! David Lee's cross was with his weaker foot. Although judging by his shooting maybe it wasn't

SatanGreavsie
27 years - good grief. I was living in London then and went to the first game, but for the replay it was a day I was having my leaving do piss up, so trawled round South Kensington and managed to remain oblivious to the score and then watched the highlights on the tv back at the staff club. Still got photos someone took of me kegged to the max and celebrating the 2nd goal. Happy days.

Went on a coach from the Monteraze and got there a little late due to piss heads wanting a late drink. (and the subsequent toilet stop) Just taking our seats as SJM scored. Wonderful night. Would love to rewind back to that time and start again, but about 6-7 years older. Would be prime drinking age by the time we hit the final few seasons at Burnden then! Breightmet Boy
Went with one of my brothers and my nephew. When my 10 year old nephew asked me my prediction I said "I'm not bothered, as long as we dont embarrass ourselves" . The rest is history, his beaming bloody face in the Anfield floodlights ill never forget. Bloody emotional this..
