The Russian people are not ideologically motivated. Unlike other dictators who have relied on ideology to fulfil their megalomaniac ambitions, Putin doesn’t have that. He will fail. Unfortunately, many will be killed before that is realised.

Let’s hope he gets toppled from within. It will be a brave man who makes the first move. But I can see it happening. No way his entire government and countrymen want this war. It’s insane. The loss of life will be astronomical. The Ukraine’s are going to fight hard to resist the invasion - so many, many young Russians are going to lose their lives needlessly. Whilst that dickweed is tucked up in his huge palatial residence eating caviar and smoking a fat Cohiba.

Hopefully the Oligarchs and others in positions of influence will realise what’s going on and bring about the regime change that’s needed. I really can’t see any other outcome short of war.
