The England job is totally different to a club job and I think we have a few who are un controversial, good with the media and I think would get on well with the players. Two I’d consider are Scott Parker doing well at Burnley and Michael Carrick at Middlesbrough. Both seem to have all the qualities the FA would want and aren’t obsessed with this play out from the back shit. I don’t want a foreigner and definitely not a German. Let bygones be bygones matey. I'd have Tuchel in the job in an instant. Quote

That would be ideal, I just don't see him wanting to be an international manager......although I do think he will leave City at the end of the season, and in reality, there's not really anywhere for him to go* at club level, I wouldn't have thought *that would interest him Quote
tomski Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 Best thing our darling media can do is leave him be and not give him an insight into what they can be like. I think it’s a huge ask but as you say, what’s next club wise. I can only think a punt in Italy may be the last calling if club management or maybe a project in the US not as a coach. You’d think if it was a flat no, they’d of said by now. Would be amazing if we can get him. Quote

Nothing to do with bygones 58 just that Germany are our biggest footballing foes and I just couldn’t stand seeing one of them leading our National Team. Let’s be honest, it’s only a part time job anyway and if we can’t find a suitable candidate from our own country it’s a poor do. Anyway we’ve tried top foreign coaches before and none of them worked so why just rinse and repeat? Quote

Also said he’ll never manage Spain as he such a staunch Catalan. So there’s a chance the job might interest him. Quote

deeane Koontz Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 I'd have Howe. Carsley sounds shite scared going off his interviews. Quote

Lt. Aldo Raine Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 The thing with Pep is, I don't think he'd have enough time on the training pitch to implement his ideas Drilling patterns of play into players is more easily done when working with them full time, but it's a different kettle of fish when only having them for a week-long training camp once every few months If we go for an international manager, Mourinho should be the one in my opinion Quote
Marc505 Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 Aren't "we" of the view that Pep has ruined football now anyway? Get Dyche. Quote

DazBob Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 I'd be surprised if Potter doesn't get it. Of all the realistic candidates, I think he's the one I'd prefer too. Quote

boltonboris Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Will Still is actually a great shout. Early 30's, apparently got loads of ideas and by all accounts is tremendously single minded and driven. Only doubt in my mind is the snobbishness of the televised media, by the likes of Keane, Neville etc moaning that he can't have any respect as he's never played the game at the top level, but they can get to F**k - He gets my vote! Quote
barrycowdrill Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 Tuchel leading man now apparently. Pep or Klopp were never happening. Don’t think the FA wanna pay compo on top of salary so Howe is out and carsley ain’t ready whether he wants it or not. 2 horses left in the race. Tuchel and Potter. Absolute no brainer Quote
