freds dad Posted August 24, 2022 Posted August 24, 2022 Anyone using the M56 to get and from the match be aware that some of it closed the weekend of the match. Quote
Dr. Feelgood Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 Good to know. But I do wonder about tje people who makes these notifications. I use these roads a lot, but I'm fckd if I know what junction numbers they are. Like when a motorway sign warns that a junction #x is closed and it turns out to be about 80 miles away. Quote
MickyD Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 Also, do these folk who decide on route of diversion really think there are only motorways between point A and point B? Quote

I’m sure they do but they wouldn’t want the amount of traffic that would be on the the motorway going through Altrincham as an example. Quote
Traf Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 Those shitty diversion signs can often be difficult to follow looking out for a circle/triangle/square on it when there are multiple diversions. Us in the NW would know to go over Bucklow towards Alty and drop back in to the M56 that way, but people coming from Midlands and further wouldn't and you'd end up with Bowdon and Hale Barns rammed with irate hokidaymakers trying to get to the airport. Did you know, the Greater Manchester area has more miles of motorway than any other county in UK? Quote

Johnnyrotten Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 Feels like a bit of a pivotal game. If it was against a definite top 6 contender like Pompey or Derby, we could say a draw isn't a bad result. If it was against a Fleetwood or Forest Green, a win wouldn't prove much. Its against a team in neither category, feels like a must win but also a tough game. A win would be a massive boost and a failure to win would suggest we're stuck on a poor run, with a run of even tougher fixtures in September. I'll take any win but a goal from a striker would be very welcome. Quote

Smiley Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 Remember last season when a local businessman bought about 10 pairs of tickets to give out to struggling families. It’s a shame that our membership now prohibits that from occurring. Makes me wonder if giving out free tickets is now impossible with the scheme. Score - 1-3. More bad news I’m afraid. Quote
