Of those 3 wins, two were won with the last kick of the game and the other from being 2 goals down. It’s just not acceptable. Another worrying stat. With the exception of the first league game of the season @ Ipswich, when we do concede a goal, we have conceded FIRST in EVERY SINGLE LEAGUE GAME!!!! That’s pathetic. Is nobody @ the club aware of these recurring problems and what is being done to rectify it? I’m not buying into the injuries excuse, we’ve been injury free for most of the season hence the bingo machine. We have clear clear problems and people just seem to gloss over it. It will be alright, never mind…. It won’t, we’re bang average and something needs to change and fast or we’ll soon be bottom half. 15 points from a possible 30. But I don't necessarily disagree with your general point. Quote

Site Supporter Ratwhite Posted December 11, 2022 Site Supporter Posted December 11, 2022 Third goal shouldn't have stood. Keeper impeded, he had his hand down Trafford's throat. Not seen a goal like that since Burnden Park. Two games, one day, two shit refs. Quote

Spot on this why isn’t something being done to rectify these issues as IE is always banging on about being meticulous with recruiting players so why hasn’t he sorted this out and before anybody posts I am not saying IE should be replaced far from it but he’s the manager so sort it if we can see it why doesn’t he !! Mounts I doubt very much the 2 million is for players as IE stated months ago he needs to move players on as in his words the squad is too big . Quote
Moderators Zico Posted December 11, 2022 Moderators Posted December 11, 2022 Only positive was derby and Peterborough not winning and we stay 5th But if we don't put a run together soon there's a whole host of clubs waiting to over take us all the way down to mid table Quote
Site Supporter desperado Posted December 11, 2022 Site Supporter Posted December 11, 2022 A day that had so much promise, ended up being one to forget from a football perspective. That’s football supporting England and Bolton. Wouldn’t have it any other way - that’s my day after perspective Yesterday was a different matter. Left the pub on final whistle of England game thoroughly pissed off after seeing us losing from being 2-1 up and England going out. Nice to see a few faces @MickyD @Steejay @radcliffe white @Marc505 We go again… Quote

They equalised as the subs were due to come on and imo Evatt should have had them sit back down then. Hindsight though obvs. What annoyed me on their winner. We know he's a shit ref, there's a slightly dodgy goal, argue like feck, wave your arms about and he might rule it out. Our lot just accepted it and trudged back to the centre circle. To me its little bits of shithousery and nastiness that we're short of, that you often see in successful sides. Quote
Moderators Casino Posted December 11, 2022 Moderators Posted December 11, 2022 We can zrgue all day about turning points, but i wont did that shitty kick by trafford lead to the pressure for either goal I did wonder how much that first half clattering would affect him, but from 100 yards away he seemed to make some good saves Quote

Ultimately, our players just aren’t talented enough. Evatt is probably getting the absolute best out of them already but we need new blood to get out of this division. We have a limited squad playing as good as it can. Mew players required. Manager makes very little difference. I'm struggling to agree with any of that. A manager makes a huge difference, a good one has the team playing as a unit, they all know their roles and they generally play in their best positions rather than out of position. And loads of other stuff too, but of course they make a difference. And whatever IEs strengths and weaknesses, its really difficult to think we are currently (last 2 months) getting the best out of this squad. I would say he was getting the best out of them last season (even when we were struggling as it was a weak squad pre-Jan), but ATM it all seems a bit hit and miss. Quote

There are mitigating circumstances for yesterdays loss given the key players missing that would have given us a more balanced starting 11. Thomason & Dempsey have both played more often than Lee & Sheehan this season so I wouldn't be so sure it would have made a difference. Quote
Moderators Casino Posted December 11, 2022 Moderators Posted December 11, 2022 I really like lee and to a lesser extent sheehan On the ball they were very good, especially second half, until it went tits up. but shrewsbury are proper physical and take every chance to kill the game With hindsight and if he was fit with morley unavailable, id have played dempsey We still had chances to kill it before they got control, mind 4 or 5 after our name wouldnt have been unreasonable Quote
