Seeing the scale of people wanting to or actually doing this mashed my head big time. I've told a few clients to do one who have gone down this route. I sincerely hope hmrc pursue these people to the Nth degree. Why should ordinary folk work while these tossers rip the country off, close a business, set up again and say its only the government I'm shafting. I think you'll find it's millions of tax payers you're shafting. Pisses me off

The mind boggles. Yes the country needed money pumping into it quickly - but the lack of checks for the big money was astonishing. Register a company with a £200k turnover, £199,999 expense and get £50k bounceback loan no questions asked. All good though as long as a plane leaves for Rwanda. Yes I'm tory but couldn't vote for these. Likely to be many years before I vote again. I might be dead before we get a proper PM
  4. The Octogon is a producing house. What it does is totally different from the ATG theatre's in Manchester which are touring venues and don't produce their own work. The theatre that you see at the Octogon is created in Bolton by the team at the theatre, bringing in some of the best directors, writers and actors from across the world. From this, shows that have originated there have touring around the UK in recieving houses. It gets funding because it is not like the pure commercial model of the Palace or even the Lowry. People would be proud that a town like Bolton has one of the first ever Repeatory Theatres, where local playwrights took shows onto international fame, where today they work to give a voice to the town and bring in millions for it. Itv was the first theatre to be built after WW1 in the North and it was built for the people of Bolton - and like other famous producing houses like Chichester it was built by local people raising the money. It was built by us. It's always blown my mind that people just dismiss it as in some way second rate when its got an illustrious history and a very positive future. Believe me, I've worked in this sector for over 20 years and the Octogon is something to be very proud of, standing head and shoulders above many venues, and occupies a unique place in the North West.
  5. Had an email chat with our energy company yesterday - the fixed rate is about £400 odd quid, we're tracking at about £200 now. We asked about what's happening, bills and assistance that might be forthcoming for those that need it, she kindly said they haven't a clue because nothing has yet come from the government so business as usual. The simple fact is that the privatised utility and transport companies in the UK have failed to deliver what they promised. Water, Power (gas, electric, oil), Phone and Broadband, Bus and Rail are years, even decades behind, tolerated by lax regulators. Service provision way worse than in other countries, costs way higher. Chilling to see the record of criticism that they pay huge salaries and dividends while not investing, and try to make staffing cheaper. The Tories hoped for the best over the last 12 years, and failed to regulate the regulators or pay real attention to what was happening. This is frankly catastrophic “market failure” which is when intelligent Governments are supposed to intervene. Tax cuts are meaningless in this context unless intended to encourage further commercial rapaciousness. Thatcherites thought private companies would be both cheaper and more efficient, and “market forces” would make them do a better job. They have had 30 odd years to demonstrate what they can deliver, and failed. I now can’t see any reasonable objection to public ownership within certain contexts. And remember shareholders are the owners of these businesses and have taken the dividends while watching these failures happen.

We had a decent thread a while back discussing Evatt’s philosophies and approach to the game (think it got tainted and pulled) So not a bad time to start it up again at the beginning of the season. In the main he’s done a fantastic job. A minority lost patience round about Xmas/New Year in both seasons. But surely now he has the large backing of the majority of fans and the brand he talked about implementing here is now well and truly established. Good article above highlighting how he’s using Sport Science to get the squad performing to it’s optimum level. A young, meticulous, intelligent and passionate individual, who we are very lucky to have leading our club. I hope he gets what he deserves with promotion to the Championship.
  7. Is it me but every time I put sky sports on it’s full of women presenters discussing football it is starting to do my head in rant over !
  8. You bad bad man. She's magnificent
  9. If I knew how to post photos, I'd spam this thread with her. Might have to keep quoting this photo instrad
  10. There's rules around topics like this.

Without Evatt we’d probably still be in league 2, very lucky to have him, enjoy while he’s here, whoever replaces him is likely not as good. Enjoy it while he’s here folks.
  14. We sold out Maybe they got it right
  15. Aye reet pair of knob ends those two! Thought Jim White was bad enough around transfers! Also tried Talk Sport other day never again. Utter shite two southern wankers discussing cup draw we never got a mention! Then Manchester correspondent Michael Gray (Why???) Comes on and he's bumming stockport. Still no mention. At least Sky saw best potential tie! Talk shite can do one
  16. Great prices No excuses, should be a decent crowd on
  17. Yeah but Chairman Mao or something?
  18. I actually can't listen to Clinton Morrison - the man is a complete moron.
  19. Bigger at the minute😀 plant pot
  20. Jim'll Pitch It.
  21. I don't think we'd have sold out the final had it been 1 ticket per ST
  22. Go where we want
  23. Should call it Crazy Camping. 100% Crazy.
  24. Well that's wild.
  25. I think its time we start to big up the good things and places we have, and stop being negative about the place. Plenty of good folk trying some good stuff around the town.

I was (and to a point still am) in a weird position with Evatt where I simultaneously realised he is the best man for the job and the process is working towards something very special, but also that I just couldn't bring myself to like the bloke. I think the job he's done so far has been nothing short of phenomenal, the recruitment has been on point for the most part, we play some electric football for the level we're operating at and off the pitch the club is looking healthier than it has in over a decade. But, something about his personality doesn't get me warming to him. But that's fine, I don't have to like him, I absolutely appreciate and respect the job he's doing though.
  27. It's ok stringing 30+ passes together in L1. But against an under strength middle-of-the-road prem team is something else. This will be a good yardstick to measure ourselves against. This fixture has a hint of the Rioch years.
  28. Don't bother me. But Robbie Savage on anything does.
  29. That TV appearance pissed me right off. He just came across as though he didn't give a shit. I emailed the club and to be fair to club the then commercial director (Gareth summat?) rang me at work and we had a chat about it.
  30. Gartside went on TV justifying that decision. If it was because of the semi turn out, then the hierarchy were no better. As disappointing as it was, you don't condemn the supporters, particularly en masse, for not being there. Money is always a potential issue, and who knows a lot may have been saving for the final.

Namely scum fuckers flying about on qaud bikes and crossers fucking all the grass up. Theres never been as many modern facilities for footy now. The kids league system over this way absolutely huge. But like you say it all costs. Its pretty shit that if you're not with a team, you're not getting a kick about anywhere decent.

Just watching the Crystal palace documentary on 4. Many of the kids seem to be getting picked up from inner city areas, its similar at the Manchester clubs, drive around Moss side, Cheetham hill, Broughton, etc and you see 4g pitches that are free for the kids to use. Last week my lads mate had the police called on him because he and 2 others sneaked onto a schools 4G for a kick about. There needs to be more free facilities for the kids in all areas.
  33. You might want to consider letting it go...
  34. Always have GMR on driving away from the match. Mainly to enjoy the 'I didn't go today but...' phone calls
  35. I hear they are considering doing a U turn and bringing it back with Clinton Morrison reading them 🙏
  36. Surely people still listened driving away from the game in the car….. I certainly did
  37. 5-2 couple of free kicks from Dapo would be nice.
  38. Audio only on ifollow - no live video anywhere, even IPTV sources
  39. It won't be streamed anywhere according to the club's Twitter account. https://twitter.com/OfficialBWFC/status/1557048642183352321?s=19
