  1. Our Maggie has given up, got progressively worse the last couple of days, the heat hasn't helped either, so after 12 years of companionship we have had to let her go RIP Maggie the Wanderer

Let's not forget ACD was a total flop at Blackburn and Forss came with pretty decent reviews. Funny ol game innit.
  3. Reading this has finally convinced me to listen to her indoors and finally retire at 70, that and visiting yet another pal with terminal cancer lying in bed in a grey room in a hospital. Someone offered to buy Dimron Towers last week and we've had an offer accepted for a modest house near Whitby, so I intend to get a new(ish) dog and enjoy my remaining mobility before Mother Nature takes it off me. Still a bit scary though
  4. My take , for what its worth ... As long as we are not crippled with unmanageable debt and have some to spend over the coming months then Im happy . Id love for us to have the cash to buy ACD , Maghoma , Trafford , Bradley but thats not happening . Mind you I still want Alan Thompson , Jason Macateer and Andy Walker back but thats not happening either.
  5. I've checked... it's the same distance and travelling time to Middlebrook, but probably end up at Whitby Town on Saturdays and away at Boro. Finding enough stuff to do does bother me, I know myself too well and if I get too much time to dwell and sit around I start boozing. All a bit sudden but with a view like this from my back gate I should be okay
  6. I must be a bit of an outlier here, as I generally don't give a fuck who owns us, how much money they pump in, or where it comes from. As long as we're solvent, and ideally able to self sustain, then I'm happy enough Ten-Bob accountancy experts pouring over every little detail that gets published at Companies House, surely isn't what being a football fan is all about is it? ๐Ÿ˜€
  7. I can see why, I actually think after initially getting the gig as leader, and generally being very naive and getting schooled by Starmer at her early PMQs, she's improved vastly, and normally comes across quite well in my opinion. It bodes well for a sensible Conservative Party getting back in power at some point in the not too distant future
  8. Even if/when somebody does buy FV out, I'd not be massively surprised if she was kept on as the "face of the club" as she seems to do that public facing role very well
  9. Was going bring up Tranmere. I still absolutely hate them (and only ever so slightly less than Aldridge) because of the 90โ€™s and early 2000โ€™s, even though weโ€™ve had little to do with them for the past 20 odd years. I would imagine the Wolves fans of the same generation are exactly the same about us.
  10. My views: I didn't subscribe to the concept of a referendum as we live in a Parliamentary Democracy and the rank and file electorate would not have been adequately informed. Although I did not like the eastward expansionism of the EU I figured it was better to stay in the tent pissing outwards (LBJ quote) and push for reforms, hence I voted to remain. In addition the exercise of unpicking 40 years of EU based statute would (and proved to be) be an enormous undertaking, almost needing a second parallel government. However I accepted the outcome and as always, looked for the positives... I really hoped for a "soft" Brexit so we could establish a trading position similar to Switzerland or Norway to the benefit of us and the more developed western European states. BUT... our effin' useless crop of ideologues stated banging on about "Brexit means Brexit" and the "will" of the people (who were deceived anyway), an adversarial situation developed and we became at war with our previous allies. Our representatives even suspended Parliament and lied to the Monarch to get their way, in my view acts of high treason. Would I rejoin the EU? No, I do not like what it has become, it's centre of influence has moved from the developed economies to the eastern and Baltic fringes. I would definitely like to be a member of a European trading group not dissimilar to the original Common Market consisting of the developed western industrial powers.
  11. Our lass has been in Hozzy for a week now , 20 hours in a+e last week and been on an observation ward for 5 days so far. Had a couple of blood transfusions and shitloads of tests done so far but still none the wiser. Starting to panic it is summat more serious now. Don't half miss her at home.
  12. Sorry to hear this, had come on here to say how tough this weather is on dogs, especially older ones, ours is nearly 14 and is really struggling. Then I get her to the woods and she is like a puppy splashing about in brook, my missus does not know I let the dog of the lead but she is so happy well worth it ๐Ÿ˜‚

  15. People are getting obsessed with this ยฃ18 million figure. Itโ€™s not a real amount of cash. Itโ€™s the nominal value of share capital. In a publicly traded company, a share with a nominal value of ยฃ1 might trade for ยฃ200 on a stock exchange. As a privately owned company, shares arenโ€™t traded on an exchange, but the principal of nominal v actual value remains. Do people really believe the whole set-up of stadium, hotel, offices, retail unit, vast amounts of car park land on prime real estate, the training ground complex, etc., is only worth ยฃ18 million?
  16. Let us not forget she was gagging to jump into the Iran war with president Nonce and genocide boy just a few months ago

    I very much doubt that.
  18. Nod to matchwinner?
  19. It is. What we need is some signings, fixture news and a preseason. Then we won't need to have esoteric debates about share ownership.

Judging by your comments on BWFC usually I'm not even sure you watch them either. I might start posting on a Moto GP forum and tell them all I know fuck all about anything

yep, easily up there with the likes of Maradona, Messi and Ronaldo Whilst he's clearly on the decline, and possibly shouldn't be getting a start for Portugal, at 41, at a major tournament, for one of the better teams, to still be playing is incredible

He did alright at Barcelona didn't he?
  23. Phil brown told a mate that on the last day of the season when we stayed up against Boro before the game he rang the club and they put him on speaker phone in the dressing room to give the lads a rousing team talk he was in prison for assault at the time

  27. Ifs it red on red, that could be an autoimmune thing my suffers. They take bone marrow to test for that kind of caper. At least they seem they're on it pal. Give her all our best and keep your head on x
  28. Luckily, revenue will increase sharply and operating costs will be stable, if not decrease. Be reet.
  29. Hopefully all turns out OK. Sounds like they are doing a differential diagnosis. In other words the symptoms mean it could be one of a number of things. Rather than take a guess at the likely cause, treating that and finding it wasn't that at all, they go through a process of eliminating causes ie working backwards. Stressful for you and yours but means more likely they arrive at the correct diagnosis and she gets correctly treated
  30. Glad this is not on paper. There wouldnโ€™t be tree left.
  31. I bet Whitestar knew thatโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ’ฃ ๐Ÿ˜†
  32. There's nobody we're likely to sign this summer who will replace the player ACD turned out to be. It was the same with Bradley and Trafford. There are no like for like replacements for players we never owned who turned out to be worth far more than we could ever afford. It'll be young players, those we think are undervalued and loans. And hopefully a few will hit. Also if you'd had a bet this time last year whether Marcus Forss or Amario Cozier-Duberry would be a better signing I'd imagine Forss would've won by a landslide. There's only so much any of us can tell off Wikipedia pages and YouTube highlights.
  33. Fuck's sake. No I don't. Convinced you're just on a wind up now so I'll leave you to it.
  34. Newport signed Christian Doige today. I hope they can pay for him.
  35. Quite a few players have started in the EFL that are in this world cup including Olise France. Semenyo Ghana and Watkins England plus many on loan

  38. She made herself look a cunt is what she did.
  39. Haha yeah I remember that
  40. I would prefer the phrase "it's created a whole new bunch of future terrorists"
  41. Thanks for the compliment, feeling pretty old at the moment so the wise bit has gone down well ๐Ÿ˜€ The old fashioned way was to top dress with granite dust to reflect the heat as the black bitumen starts to soften (at around 50C). The new stuff rases this failure temp to 80C but it is more expensive and how often do we resurface our roads? Then you can get problems with surface water and flooding as the new stuff is harder. Bit of a tightrope really
  42. She seems quite keen
  43. Talking of "bad" weather, I've just been outside, and it's currently 41.3C outside the factory, but the humidity is off the scale, apparently a typhoon is heading in on Saturday, and this always happens. Fuck knows how people cope with this type of weather. I walked back into my office, and some cunt had turned the air conditioning up to 24C, as my setting of 18C is apparently too cold.....it's my fucking office!!! - she only popped into bring me a coffee, and thought she was being helpful. She's now made me a lovely little laminated sign to hang on the thermostat, to tell people not to touch it I've only been here 3 days, I bet they can't wait for me to fuck off on Friday ๐Ÿ˜€
  44. Aye reet. Thanks for biting anyway.
  45. I remember when he was playing for us, I was stood in the beer garden of The Harvester and there was some sort of electrical fire in the stadium, smoke billowing out of the top of the West Stand. Someone said "Ey up, Ricky and Jermaine are having their pre-match spliffs", and for a few seconds it was the funniest thing anyone had ever said. @gonzo was probably there. Or he might have been there but doesn't remember it. Or he might not have been there. But somebody definitely said it. Unless it was just something I thought of saying but didn't because it seemed a bit racist.
  46. You clearly are a betting man, as you placed a bet.
  47. If 40% canโ€™t be arsed voting then their opinions count for the square root of fuck all Iโ€™m afraid. Youโ€™re basically asking to be governed by whoever those who could be bothered to get off their arse votes for Fuck em, frankly.
  48. Zat Knight crimes against football
  49. My condition has worsened over the past 18 months, I now cannot walk and have lost the use of my right arm and hand, no more bird houses to be made, in constant pain and I know depression is creeping in, I am at Salford Royal for 2 days a month for a 4 hour infusion, this is for the foreseeable future. Same as others I have a very large drink (Vodka and lemonade) every night which means I get about 4 -5 hours sleep. I have had adaptations made in the house which again is depressing, (the grandkids love the stairlift), my only pleasure now is Monday Club (pitch and toss night) and Thursday club when we put the world to rights, 3 pints is my limit because there is no disabled toilet in my local. I keep my season ticket but this coming season I have to go pitchside because I cannot get up the few steps to where my daughter and kids sit, I have had to stop going away matches as I hate being a burden to anyone. i will talk to someone eventually, just not ready yet.
