Wonder if this is coming into the bracket of cracking down on dissent?

Might be wrong but think I saw a Prem player booked on MOTD on Saturday for waving an imaginary card at the ref for a challenge on him?

Is this now the equivalent for managers?

Same. Jones & Santos were also both furious

It felt a bit of a let down in the end, which is weird as the game was just petering out towards our usual 3-0 victory.

The ref decided he wanted to be the star of the show and he ruined a decent game.

A couple of things to note though

1, Dion ain’t the brightest.

2, Evatt really needs to work on his own personal discipline, the way he performs on the touchline at times is unprofessional and a tad tinpot.

Oh and Velas a cunt

Just got home, not sure if the ref or M62 were most annoying things tonight.

The Charles sending off is a joke. He touches the keeper who shrugs it off runs to edge of area and then kicks/trips Charles. Nothing in it from either side. But if he books Charles for delaying the game then he needs to book the keeper for the trip. If it was dissent from Charles why was the free kick taken from the point of original contact rather than where Dion was stood ?

Charles first yellow was soft, Vela took Iredale late and much harder and not booked. In the move where Vela was booked for another tackle from behind he had already taken a player out and the ref had pointed it out, based on the Charles first yellow Vela could have 2 in one go.

Was Vic offside for the disallowed 4th ??

Again we were clinical but they caused us more problems than last 3 games combined. It should have Ben a game that just slipped to sleep but the ref decided we needed a show.

Incredibly... he has. Who knew?

No idea what the punishment will be - is it just 1, or more, for a managerial straight red?

Was the equipment unauthorised ?

And is saying the deduction was wrong inappropriate behaviour ?

Apparently Brown asked why their goal was disallowed after using equipment earlier.

Was Vic offside for the disallowed 4th ?? Yes because he was offside.

I think the ref gave a free kick to Fleetwood for Dion's initial grabbing of Lynch which was near the goal line - he clearly hadn't seen the first little kickout from Lynch. Then they both wandered away from the goal and Lynch gave Dion a more obvious kick - but by that time the ball was dead and maybe the ref didn't see that either or deem it worthy of a card if he did. Dion then said something which was as dumb as it gets and got himself the booking that gave him the full set.

Johnston and Rooney could both have been sent off too.

Questions, questions but the big question is.....

Who is top of the league? :)

Oh no, I'm with you.

Ridiculous, but it's in the rules.

Looked like the fourth official shopped him for it. Who'd have thought referees would be jobsworth twats(!)?

Are you assuming he used "unauthorised equipment", or assuming he "behaved in an inappropriate manner"?

Iles tweeted that Pete Atherton had said Evatt had been sent off for "misuse of technology". Could be either.

Sorry, thought I'd seen that tweet on here, apparently not.

You are saying Dion was booked for dissent ?  The whistle was only blown after Dion went down, so the ball is in play until that point. Even if the ball is not in play you can not kick players.

Have you seen a replay of the disallowed goal ? I have nt hence the question.

Wasn't criticising, it was a genuine question. I've seen that tweet, but in the bwfc article, Atherton says:

“With the manager, he said to the fourth official that he’d seen it back and it wasn’t a booking as the keeper had actually tripped Dion up.

“But apparently by the letter of the law, by him referring to the replay, it’s a red card. He hasn’t abused the referee or fourth official, but purely for making the comment that he’d seen it back.”

So either Atherton has misunderstood the reason given for the red, or the Referee has misunderstood the letter of the law!

Seemed to me like the ref bottled it. Gave the free kick to the keeper (it was a little tug by Dion but ref was originally happy to play on) to avoid making a decision on a Bolton pen (?) and / or a keeper yellow / red card.

Dion looked like he said something as the ref got near (long after the incident) and that caused the ref to turn round and give him the second booking.

4th “goal” looked very tight. Seemed level but the camera angle wasn’t in line so hard to tell.

Someone far more learned than me on the matter would have to confirm what video tech, if any, is allowed on the touchline by the FA. I honestly don't know!
