He wouldn't if Coleman had just put his foot through it, our centre Half's spread so wide neither anywhere near their striker.

Tippy tap shite played badly by third division footballers

It was a simple ball played correctly to a central midfielder in central midfield. No real pressure until he mis controlled

It’s not luck though. It’s because other teams don’t invite pressure on themselves.

Look at our goal kicks - we know they are pressing so that Coleman is going to have to play it long, yet we still play it short and then pass it back to Coleman under pressure.

It is luck when the ball cannons straight to one of their players.

A simple ball into a midfielder running towards his own goal and under pressure.

Prey tell why that is a great tactic??

We're playing fuckin Barnsely in the 3rd division. Neither has it paid off at the other end by us creating chance after chance so what's the fucking point.

It’s not though. Our players pull out wide (looking for a pass) leaving the middle free for Thomason to play it back to the keeper if he needs to. If you tackle Thomason there will be no central defence to cover.

He called for it, there was nobody in the screenshot when he received it, he then put his first touch about 5 paces ahead of him and took 3 weeks to catch up with it and try and turn a ball round the corner - any of Sheehan, Maghoma or Dempsey in that position and it’s still 0-0.

Correct, plus you are playing it to a player who collects the ball with his back to play - so he has no idea who is behind him.

I'm not disputing it was poor play by GT, but why do they feel they have to do that whether it's Sheehan, Thompson or Father Xmas, that's the real question

Yeah fair question. All part of the ‘philosophy’ innit.
