I even remember debating whether I could bring myself to support another team and realising I couldn't, resigning myself to a future of non-league and attempted impartiality. Fucking horrible, the Anderson period. The upside (as it turned out) is that I feel for supporters of other clubs that have to go through anything like what we went through and that whoever you support, it's a life sentence. That's right, but just on that day when FV came in I was happy as fuck for us, but I was sad for Bury at the same time. I thought there's a few down the road feeling exactly the opposite to me, and what would I do in their position ? Quote

Lostock Whites Posted March 30, 2024 Posted March 30, 2024 (edited) Is this the most home supporters we will have had for a game since the Prem? Barely any seats left in 3 tiers and most the south lower have been sold. Great uptake. But 3 points is all that matters Monday, don't care if we play like shit just get it done, no excuses. If we were playing well this would have sold out. Big crowd adds extra pressure and that’s a worry. Any win please.🙏 Quote

I’ll be buying a Bristol ticket come 5pm Monday 🤣 Quote
FrancisFogarty Posted March 31, 2024 Posted March 31, 2024 A win, but more importantly a good performance and who knows ? I go an amended 3 - 1 to us. Quote

We’d still be two results behind them with their goal difference and we’ve Pompey to play as well remember. There’s still hope I agree but I think it’s a long one. 🙂 Quote
L/H White Posted March 31, 2024 Posted March 31, 2024 No confidence in them at all at the minute 2-2 Quote
1969 Posted March 31, 2024 Posted March 31, 2024 We'll win this 3-0 so our hope's are raised again then probably dashed when Derby beat Portsmouth Quote
Johnnyrotten Posted March 31, 2024 Posted March 31, 2024 (edited) If (big if) we finish on 93 points, Derby need 13 points to guarantee 2nd. Goal difference of 7 can soon be reduced with 3 of our 4 home games being very winnable, we could win one of them 5-0 if we're on form. So if they were to lose at Pompey its all to play for because they can't get 13 points from the last 4! Edited March 31, 2024 by Johnnyrotten Quote

If it goes the other way it might be off but let's get behind the team on Monday. Won't be easy as reading are playing well but pompey will hopefully be up for trying to get the title almost sewed up. Quote
radcliffe white Posted March 31, 2024 Posted March 31, 2024 It would keep things interesting for another week i do think derby have the favourable fixtures remaining and our goal difference could be our shortfall unless we pull another Oxford out the bag Quote
Wanderlust Posted March 31, 2024 Posted March 31, 2024 We just need better performances from here on in and I'm hoping that the narrative within the club is to take the pressure off the players rather than pile it on. I have no doubt they were trying their hardest on Friday - in fact they seemed to be trying too hard, dithering about looking for the perfect pass instead of taking whatever was available, hesitating on the ball and getting caught instead of doing what comes naturally - it looked overthought and far from their natural game. Nobody seemed to want to risk losing the ball in the final third attempting a killer pass or shot - well at least until Kyle Shoot on Sight Dempsey came on when we were desperate. Regardless of who is available to play, we just need them to play with the freedom and natural instinct they played with earlier in the season and the results will look after themselves. Not even thinking about Derby or anyone else now - it's all about us finding our natural game and playing with freedom again because we have the talent to succeed. Quote
tomski Posted March 31, 2024 Posted March 31, 2024 1-1 Too wind me up even more, Derby then lose at Portsmouth Quote

As stupid as it sounds, promotion is still completely within our hands, wether is autos or play offs. Win our games and it's done. Easier said than done, but that's promotion for you. Quote

I suppose all the top 8 know promotion is in their hands, anyone down to Stevenage "just" have to win all their games and they'll go up. Difference for us is we can probably afford to lose the next 6, then draw 3 games and win a couple of pen shoot outs and we'd be up! Sounds relatively easy put like that. Quote

Not sure (if based on current form) it's a great idea to go up, we would struggle like crazy, Not saying I wouldn't love to FWIW, We'd really need to improve a few areas, as we're still reliant on loan players.
