I'd prefer to go down the fresh manager, fresh ideas route and appoint someone completely new like Ipswich and Pompey did, and Brum have done. Obviously it's a bigger risk of getting it wrong but I'm not sure a very old manager would have the energy to turn this around and then get us ready for promotion next season.

Night and day mate. Todd led us to record breaking Division One (Championship) season, promoted at Maine Road, with a 2-0 win at City.

His team were entertaining, scored for fun, and yet were as hard as nails. Evatt is not fit to be in the same room as Todd.

Neal is the only comparator, and it’s not favourable to Evatt, in my opinion.

Still early days and a very, very long season ahead. A new upbeat manager can turn the tide and get a positive vibe around the place in quick order.

If Nolan is interested I would take him if we could afford him. If not, there would be a long list of applicants to choose from. I imagine the club has some options in mind in readiness in the event of Evatt going, regardless of how he goes.

Evatt and Markham didn't make enough use of the loan system this window, IMO. Danns from Liverpool, or similar would have been one for me plus one other, maybe more.

The similarities with the end of Neal's tenure are incredible... I can't be bothered to go through it all again but a "bigger" manager came in (Rioch) took hold of the squad, lit the fire, added a few bits and pieces and became one of our greats

I do have some sympathy for the people who couldn't see this coming, but the warning signs have been there for a long time. Lets hope the currrent management structure carry out their fiduciary responsibility as this can't go on.

Been a massive fan of Evatt since he arrived but the last few months have been terrible. Hes obviously found his level and we need to go past that. However a lot of the players aren’t blame free, some of the passing and effort from them today was inexcusable. Who do we get in if he goes? Not a fkin clue.

Todd was one game from getting a talented squad up, didn't, and it went to shit

I can't really blame the players, they're being put in positions in which you'd basically need to be a premier league level player to succeed in.

Not too late in the season to get amongst the mix by seasons end. I've actually got faith in these players being good enough. Evatt can't do it.  We've got to get the appointment right. If Sam can't be tempted for 18 months I'd be after Alex Neill.
