I'm nevertheless scratching my head by the concept of wingers not passing the ball.

Just beating a man and crossing it.

I'd like to think the professional game is more complex than that.

It was a generalisation.  A midfielder like Morley, Sheehan, EE etc probably pass the ball long and short 30 or 40 times a game.  Its a particular skill, its all about quick reactions, vision and reading of the game.  But ask them to beat a man one on one and they don't have that skillset.

The likes of Gale and Cissoko can beat a man in their sleep, but you wouldn't trust them to pick out a pass accurately 25 yards away.  They cross it or shoot, with varying levels of accuracy (to put it politely).  If they pass it, its 10 yard back to the full back or 10 yards inside to Sheehan etc.  Generally.

Wouldn't have gale anywhere near the starting xi,   when its coming down to the nitty gritty now and passion and hard work is needed,  this lad looks like he lacks both , heart thr size of a pea and looks scared to make a tackle or even try and make a block,, yeah bring him on 10 to go if we are coasting but for burstow out wide and cbt on the other side to start games .

I don’t understand how it’s fair / unfair or whatever. Us having goal line tech in my opinion has no bearing on results anywhere else.

If the other teams want as a result of feeling hard done to, then it’s not a particularly expensive bit of infrastructure. Also any team that’s been in the championship at any point in the last decade they’ll already have it

Would have to be rolled out across the whole league

Listened on the radio and heard we were 3 0 up with 20 min left. Went out for a game of footy with pals and told them the score. Felt a right dick when I got back and read the back page of The Buff.

t has happened to us on at least two previous occasions, 3-0 up away from home with 15 minutes to go and lost both 4-3, Watford and Chelsea (never forget that cunt Clive Walker)

Another involving Bolton 1978   Bolton 3 up at half time and lost 4-3 at Chelsea

I was at Bury that day, they kicked off at 3:15 and when the final score newspaper was being sold before the end of the match, the Bury fans all started chanting ’Chelsea, Chelsea.. I’ve hated Bury ever since!

BASTARDS!!

I enjoy watching the other players and the crowd too.

CBT shows barely any emotion or movement after the first goes in.

When he scores the winner Sheehan cups his face in disbelief.

Impressed by the players not over celebrating the equaliser, but grabbing the ball quickly like they did after the first.

Not settling for the point, but going for the win.

Harry Potter putting in an appearance around 90 minutes and 10 seconds.

Well, it was wizardry in the end.

We say things today are worse but at least in this new age we get to see everything 🙌

Johnny Kenny celebrates more than anyone after the third goes in 😀

Was looking forward to going as heard good stuff about it and the ales. The stench from the men's bogs was horrendous. Reminded me of the Burnden bogs (not the poster on here) in the 70s and 80s. We left after the first pint needless to say.

I've noticed that all season, if we've equalised with any time left at all, we've hardly celebrated, its all been about getting the ball and players back to the halfway line.  Barnsley, Blackpool, Huddersfield, Exeter, Doncaster, Lincoln, Reading, Blackpool, Wycombe.  No ballooning or pile on's.  When teams equalise against us (Reading, Rotherham, Orient, Burton, Blackpool) its like they've won the game and achieved their goal.

A good attitude to have.

Thinking of those 9, all but 2 were scored by Dalby or Burstow, I know they are our main strikers but still an unusual stat.

The 2 equalisers not mentioned are Lincoln at home and Orient away as they were so far into injury time that going for a winner wasn't realistic.  Both were effectively scored by ACD although the first was an OG.

We have goal line tech at our stadium, but we’re not allowed to use it because it’s only valid for champ and prem.

Which is bonkers. If it’s available, use it.

Not any more.

I still don’t understand why.

I didn’t understand why Villa v Newcastle didn’t use VAR in the FA cup 4th round either

This seems harsh. He’s incredibly capable, but he’s also incredibly inconsistent, which is why he’s playing for us in league one. As usual with wingers, he’ll win as a lot more points than he loses us.

The answer is not playing a striker there instead.

People worrying/complaining about others leaving early is barmy.

They paid for their ticket and turned up. I nearly always stay and today clapped the players off, but if someone else decides they are happy to leave early for whatever reason it makes fuck all difference to me. Do people worry about season ticket holders who do not turn up at all ?

Anyone leaving early today missed one of those comebacks that make the trip over worthwhile. Fuck knows what was going today but the exit on the M62 was blocked before the game so ended driving to somewhere near Wigan, roads all round were blocked.

I don't get it because the match is the match and shit traffic is part of it for many

But if folk want to leave early so what

They're the ones who miss out

Morley has his head in his hands and then pulls his hood over his head when the 2nd went in. Fortunately hidden by a random collection of our subs, backroom staff and stretchers bearers dancing around when the 3rd went in.

Why exactly?

Grounds already differ in pitch length, width and surface quality.
Officials differ every game.

Some grounds having Goal Line Technology and others not would just be another of the many variables that teams encounter every week.
