Clueless management.

The man famous for being flexible has become inflexible but only when it comes to us.

He was one player off your side to start.

Then started the 2nd half with your side.

Clearly what they needed was your 2nd half team talk, then all would have been ok

Sorry but today was laughable and if anyone was still having thoughts that we might play in a higher league next season, give your head a good shake.

I’m kicking myself that I’m responding after such a shit game.

But you don’t half wallow in our bad times.

Im going to bookmark this post for the 24th May.

I am probably in the minority on here but I am not confident of us making the play offs the upcoming games are all tough and out recent performances have been poor at best.

In the minority!

I don’t think so today 🤣

Worrying times after the past 3 games

What an opportunity to chase Cardiff after their blip and we’ve been horrendous.

Wouldn’t be surprised if SS has been getting frustrated at the players & they’ve not responded well. See where the playoffs takes us, hopefully we’ve improved by then

Not really he says we have played well for the last 13 games , have we fuck.

That sounds a lot like evett hopefully he knows it’s a load of bollocks and just trying ti keep confidence up .
If we do have a finish like last season we’re the players just tossed it off at the end he won’t have the excuse of it  not is squad he will have to take the blame .
Vale looked motivated and there down and we looked like we didn’t give a fuck something not right

Nah.

We were shit.

Some shocking performances- Tutu, Simons, Kenny.

There’s definitely reflection needed from players and management.

But not once did I feel like we didn’t give a fuck.

I’m not having it either that Stockportways is buzzing - their last 8

W2 (Northampton and Wigan at home - Wigan had 2 sent off)

D2 (Orient at home and Luton away)

L4 (Lincoln away, Stevenage away, Burton away, Bradford away)

They will be shitting it. Games in hand mean nothing until you actually get something from them. They’ve played 3 teams in that run that are in the top 8 and lost them all - it doesn’t bode well even if they do get in.

Stevenage ways might be happy - they’re Jekyll and Hyde though. Tend to win at home and lose away. 7 wins and 5 losses in the last 12

I reckon it’ll be Us, Bradford, Plymouth and Stockport and you could give us all the same odds to win to be promoted.

They won't be , week off on the lash as a reward i reckon

We’ve got @Rizlar thinking he’ll be on is own predicting doom and gloom - how wrong could he be.

Looks like I’m on a one man band of reality here.

The reality is the moment we drew against Rotherham it was all about the play offs. That result doesn’t do a great deal to change  that outlook, as abject as it was.

Remind me who are the 4 teams who are beating us to the play-offs?

And they'd still be below us if they won them both.

Who are all these teams making up 7+ points on us in 7 games.

The route to them closing us down is pretty simple - half have got games in hand and they all play us.

I think we'll be ok, but relying on everyone else below us to stay shite is a dangerous way to live.

Looking at the fixtures, if we lose to Plymouth there will suddenly be a lot of pressure on that Stockport game. And I can't see us not losing to Plymouth.

Not predicting doom and gloom just stating the fact that we are not playing well and the next few games are against better opposition who are all after a play off place time will tell .

Hoping McAtee is back fit for this. The best we've looked in this unbeaten run was with him as the 10 behind Dalby.

I've been impressed with Kenny but it's then making Dalby drop deep which doesn't work IMO.

Would put Kenny on one of the wings and play Gale, Cissoko or Apter on the other.

Midfield 2 of Dempsey plus EE or Simons. Not a game for Sheehan for me.

You got the line up about right (Kenny and Apter), with Dempsey, EE and Simons.

"Not a game for Sheehan" - just not a game for this squad really.

We all talk about who to pick, what might work, what might not.  3 games last 8 days suggest it doesn't really matter, the opposition will deal with whatever we throw at them, which today was even more pitiful.

Apter though 🙄

In a bizarre sense I fancy us more against better teams.

Days like today have been our kryptonite all season. And nights like Tuesday, which for me was more alarming than today.

Sound like a broken record but it's not just us faltering and having dips in form amongst the play offs ans chasing pack.

The fact we are so far off making a push for the season like Cardiff and Lincoln is probably a wider discussion.

But right here right now the season is in danger of fizzling out and us limping over the line.

They look like they all need a break including the manager and we need to figure out what it is we are actually trying to do.

Systems go out of the window on days like today, was all about application, or lack of.

Love it to be a three at back as long as they stay at the back. Send Firino up for the corners but i want Toal and Johnston to concentrate on defending long balls and not thinking they are Hierro at his best

What if the long ball is from our corner?

I haven't watched it back but hard to believe we were so open from our own corner that their striker only had to outpace one defender.

You said you were not confident of us making the play-offs. That’s as gloomy a scenario as I could envisage this season! 😂

Listen, I get it. Today was fucking awful. We play like that we’re going nowhere, so I get the doom and gloom.

I think we just have to move on and dust ourselves down.

Get ACD back. Get Sheehan dictating things again.

Was having a great day today. Good drive down& nice lunch in a little gem on the edge of kidsgrove. Great food & drink & catch up with family/friends.

Then we got to Vale Park & them lot fucking ruined it.

Outfought & bullied in midfield, no wide player beat a man all day.
Same high ball in every time even though it wasn’t working from minute 1.

Only Dalby walks away with any credit. Toal’s passing has been off for weeks & Apter has no confidence.
I don’t know what our best 11 is & neither does Schuey….
