Doubt it, City are so well organised and clinical where it matters, Pep's year this for the CL (IMO)

I think you are right R. I get that feeling too.

Obviously would like Napoli to lift it for the family connections but City are looking strong at the right time.

This was a decent article:

Good article that 👍.

City v Napoli would make a fantastic final.

When we went to Tenerife last summer my eldest befriended a drinking buddy from Naples (big Napoli fan) who he went clubbing with in the evening. He’s kept in touch with him and some of the pics/stories he sends over a great!

My lad is trying to find a way to get over there at some point in the future…

I'm not so sure.  If Citeh make it past Bayern and Real Madrid then they'll win the final at an absolute canter looking at the other side of the draw.

Their defence couldnt cope with city.

City's defence would struggle with Osimehn and Kvara.

Be a great game unless city smash 3 in early doors.

Napoli need to turn up for second leg.

Very poor in Milan. You can just see one of Milan teams boring and cheating their way to winning it

The stadium is one of those which makes the hairs stand up on the back of the neck even when empty - just like Lambeau Field and Burnden Park.

I hope your lad makes it. Incredible atmosphere. One of my 'hot spells' over there (i.e. where I could attend more than one game) was during big hostilities they had with Hellas Verona. "Veronese, figli di puttana" song still comes to mind from time to time. I seem to recall that it was based on the 'cholera' chants directed at Napoli fans after one of the many fatal outbreaks. Verona fans overstepped the mark as far as the Neapolitans were concerned. Didn't get to a match against them but each of the ones I attended featured that song being sung over and over again. Just the same at Malaga re Sevilla (sorry, puta Sevilla :D ) by the way.

Napoli fans are, in general, mad. They are like this in their daily lives so no surprise that it is the same (or a few notches higher) at games. A frenetic, sometimes lunatic but addictive place. Passion. They wrote the book. "See Naples and die" and all that.

Just fyi, the hot spell in question featured a star striker they had signed called Beppe Savoldi. They were looking at a second cousin of the missus to be one of the wingers to feed Savoldi. Never came to anything and the distant relative ended up bumming around Campania at lesser clubs like Avellino, Caserta and Battipaglia. I only mention this as his surname was Capone! No relative of the more famous one to my knowledge!

Did you watch the whole game mate? Napoli pummeled them for most of the first half. Kvaradona should have opened the scoring in the first few minutes. Surprised that Lobotka didn't bring down the Milan player who prompted the goal with a quick break from close to his own penalty area. Suspect that the coach would have given him a right rocket for that mistake.

They missed their talisman. He should be back next week and you will see the real Napoli I suspect. The whole place, not just the football club, runs on belief in a great leader. Maradona, Pietro Savastano, you name it. Victor back will be a massive boost.

As you say, Milan (in particular) very hard to break down as proved when they shut out Harry Kane. If however Napoli get one - hopefully early - I fancy them to dispose of Milan. If they do, looks like Inter next.

I do agree that I think they will win it. 'At a canter'? Bit foolhardy that IMO.

The standard of Italian football is rubbish.  If the Massives get to the final they'll never, ever have a better chance of winning it.

Be honest only turned on at HT when saw the RM Chelsea was a non event.

If City don’t win it would love Napoli to do it as FU to the Italian G14 clubs

We disagree then (on standard of Italian football). Agree that I think City will win it however and not before time.

He has the gall to talk to me for years about cricket and then has this disdain for great football. Carry on as he’s a lot to learn.

FWIW he loves Bundesliga as well.

I don’t believe it…

just checked into a country pub in a little village in Hampshire , there’s 4 more of the fuckers discussing last night’s match

A few years back I was working in faversham in Kent and went into pub/hotel looking for some digs, as I walked to the bar there was Union Jack on the wall emblazoned with Faversham reds and Man U badge, promptly turned round and fucked off. Red cunts.

Should have stayed and left "bwfc" daubed on the bedroom wall.
