Ha ha it's hard to share enthusiasm for anyone joyous after our season,

What was theist one we had? Preston?

Disadvantage of the macron that. With no front rows people can't get on the pitch. Might be part of the reason they did it.

Gerrard has been one of the absolute tip top players of the Premier League era

And I mean elite, not top in a Harry Redknapp way

I just don't get the bitterness towards him

Me neither.

Outright the best oppostion player I've seen against us.

Will be up there with the Vieras and Keanes when folk talk about premiership legends in years to come.

It's more bitterness towards Ryski :)

I reserve the right to be bitter and down right abusive to any opposition player for no good reason

I also reserve the right to come out years later after the player is caught in a scandal and shout from the roof tops "told you"

I refer of course to the case though it does not refer to a player of Jazza vs R Harris

All I see is a massive underachiever for club and country.

I'd have to disagree at club level.

Being part of the poorest Liverpool FC since since the 60's, he's probably overachieved if anything.

Anything they've won in recent years has been mainly down to Gerrard's influence/ability.

He pretty much singlehandedly dragged them into Champions League final and then was a big part in them winning it.

Steven Gerrard is Liverpool FC and much of bitterness towards him is borne out of jealousy.

I'd have fucking loved us to get a homegrown kid at 8 yrs old, watch him come through the ranks, play over 800 games for club and country, scoring over 200 goals in the process.

In a day when the word is bandied around too much, he is a club legend and if he was playing us on his last appearance, I'd applaud him wholeheartedly.

Hats off, Stevie G, your club & fans have every right to be proud of you.

Love him or loathe him, he's one of if not the best English player of his generation.

Was good enough in his prime to play for any of the world's top sides. You can't say that about too many.

A great player over the last 10 or so years, he's not what he once was obviously, but in his prime he would have got into most teams in the world.

Yep agree. He's been a fantastic player and agree with traf, he has probably over achieved. I hated it when we sang that song against Liverpool as it made us look small time.

His loyalty to Liverpool (gangster influenced or not) has lead him to a slightly better situation to Alan Shearer at Newcastle.

His honours list would be much better had he moved to Chelsea.

The United mob of giggs, Scholes the nevilles etc probably out class him in terms of achievement but Gerrard is better than all of them.

Doesn't mean I can't dislike the scouse cunt.
