To deny him that much is churlish. Definitely agree with this. The game at the Reebok where we were 2 up and he turned around single handed, I doubt I'll ever see against us again. If we had a player who'd done 20% for us of what he'd done for them we'd be ballooning about it. Does anyone think Liverpool will ever have an home grown player as good as that and who will stay as long as he did again? What have Campo and Ream got to do with it though?. Campo got appreciation not adulation (I believe that was the word you were looking for) and Ream got a round of applause for being the best of a bad bunch. Not really relevant that. Quote

I agree, you find out how good they are in the World Cup Finals and European Championships, not stomping around looking great in a stronger team against Bolton.Gerrard was a very good PL player who wasn't up to the world stage.The last world class midfielder we had was Gazza, the Geordie could change matches at the highest level. Gerrard wasnt 10 times the player Gazza was, Gazza was a genuine world class player who could change games at the top international level something Gerrad never did at international level, the difference between them was Gerrard was mentally right in the head and Gazza wasn't so couldn't sustain the levels of consistency. Regarding Frankie also would have been a Liverpool legend if he'd have not burnt candle at both ends even with Franks legendary excesses he played over 800 professional games and scored 260 goals and had a touch and vision and goal scoring ability Gerrard could only dream of. I'm not massively bothered on the Gerrard subject either way but to say he couldn't change a game at the highest level is a bit harsh considering he changed the biggest game in domestic football with the 2nd half turn around in the Champs League final. Fair enough he has never done anything for England but I'd have that down as an England issue rather than a Gerrard one, remember even as late as the 2010 World Cup he was played left mid!! Criminal from Capello, he should have been centre mid and the rest of the team built around him. Quote
