When we find ourselves in times of trouble, Stevie G runs past me,

Playing the game with wisdom, Stevie G,

And in my home, the Spion Kop, We watch him jog, right in front of me,

Spreading balls with wisdom, Stevie G,

Let it be, let it be, let it be,

Stevie G, The local lad turned hero, Stevie G

And when the jubilant Kopite people, All living in The Park agree,

That we all know the answer, Stevie G,

And although we may all be fooled, There is still a chance that we will see,

The footballing phenomenon, Stevie G,

Let it be, let it be, let it be,

Stevie G, Spreading balls with wisdom, Stevie G

And when the night is cloudy, There is still a man that we all see,

A young, committed Kopite, Stevie G,

Playing to the sound of music, Stevie G runs past me,

Playing the game with wisdom, Stevie G,

Let it be, let it be, let it be, Stevie G,

For we all know the answer, his name is Stevie G

Just fuck off.

Do liverpool not have a forum?

He was a very good player. The Very Best win league championship medals though and his misguided "loyalty" let him down.

I shudder to think how much sickly bollocks the media are likely to spew all over this story now though.

It'll be a long and tedious farewell.

I love the fact that Gerrards dream was to win the premiership with Liverpool. All those seasons and nowhere near and it looked like the dream was not going to happen. Then all of a sudden from nowhere Liverpool had their chance. The league title was on a plate, theirs to lose. The scousers were dancing in the street and holding street carnivals to celebrate the inevitable league win. Their captain the man who had waited so long would be heralded the greatest Scouser ever and walk off into the sunset with a piece of history.

Nothing could stop them. But then Gerrard did what he does best and bottled it. Single handedly throwing away their best title chance in over 20 years.

I suspect he will never recover from that moment. Forever a broken man knowing that he is responsible for another hundred years of mourning and moaning. He is the bigger bottler going. A nearly man. Goes down into the list of good premiership players alongside the likes of Scott Parker, but cannot be placed alongside true greats or winners. The Tim Henman of football.

Absolutely beautiful.

So he didn't win the league

We rave about McGinlay, Walker et al who didn't play for us at the club's "peak"; they are still folk heroes to us

Same for Gerrard at Liverpool; it will mean a lot more to their supporters than externally reviewing his lack of winning the league

Kudos to a great player

I think a lot of people are forgetting how good He actually was at his peak.

He was fucking phenomenal.

To think Folk today wank over Yaya Toure.
