Underpants Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 The atmosphere is shit because the club never really understood the need to group like minded people together in one area. Away matches have a decent atmosphere purely because the older heads are passing down some of the older songs. At home the kids think wanky wanderers and we are the one and only wanderers are good enough. When we moved to the Reebok all existing st holders got the equivalent, or near enough, to their position at Burnden Park. I suppose they could have designated a stand for chavs and notrights. But not even the club, even after putting the Burnden Paddock and Manny Rd lot together but on opposite sides of the ground, could have envisaged sitting down could of had such a big effect on the atmosphere. L/H White Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 kinell, no wonder the big mac is like a morgue, these songs are fucking gash I'll ask on LFCWAYS, they'll sort something decent for us. Quote

gonzo Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 They should give the east lower to away fans,or half of the whole stand and make the south stand a singing stand where you can stand up and sing. Someone should get the ultras thing going like at boro and palace. Quote
Pablo Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Looking good at this level, very good. Clubs will be watching, defo. Prem is a different level, but I would rather see Prem clubs take a chance on him that some of the foreign muck that comes over. Quote

You can't displace our fans in the east lower to give it away fans it's where most of our season ticket holders sit that'd be madness. Quote

BOWTUN BAKED Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 (edited) They should give the east lower to away fans,or half of the whole stand and make the south stand a singing stand where you can stand up and sing. Someone should get the ultras thing going like at boro and palace. I've said this before, but D-Block WSL, not east stand. If you want atmosphere, we've got to have behind each goal, I see Derby have moved the away fans to a corner. Realistically, how many clubs come to the Macron & need the large followings accommodated in the SouthStand? That's what we should be looking at, though segregation from the away car park to D-Block is probably why they won't. Edited February 16, 2015 by BOWTUN BAKED Quote
L/H White Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 We need to get this kid in to sort out songs/chants out https://vine.co/v/OFvluHF3mUF The above is really good. Check his vine profile, it's full of them Top man Quote

At one point in second half that end got all the other stands singing and as they got to the last stand they scored, nice coincidence. Quote

At one point in second half that end got all the other stands singing and as they got to the last stand they scored, nice coincidence. I've said it for years. Our vocal support/crazy corner might as well be stood shouting on tesco's car park. Total waste of time. Every decent ground for atmosphere in this country has a kop or an end. When large followings fill our south stand we may as well be playing away. Quote

I always get the feeling that those that go in the corner are more interested in shite songs and insults at the away fans than singing to back our team, unless we've just scored Quote
frank_spencer Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 To be fair to the club they have tried to get folk who want to sing in the Nsl, where the cheapest tickets are. it's not their fault no bugger has taken them up on it. Quote
Matt Lofthouse Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Singing stand/section or not, watching the game from behind the goal has and always will be shit. Quote

frank_spencer Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Fair enough Frank. Having had our seats at the Reebok/macron since 2 seasons after it opened I get all confused watching the game from anywhere but there nevermind a different stand. Quote
Zico Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 the only songs we're going to have regards players are generally either: a) their name - with the tune determined by number of syllables in name their name - followed by something like "he came from madrid, he didn't cost a quid" c) a line, followed by their name, followed a 3rd line - e.g. he's one of our own, he's one of our own, andy kellet, he's one of our own then you've got the general bolton/wanderers songs and the boo medley no point in trying to add owt new to this repertoire Quote

Whites man Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Folk who sing "walking in a n. Wonderland" are always JCL's in my experience. Quote
