Whites man Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 £30m for the club with Eddie writing off the debt is a good bit of business IMO. If the Micks pass on the deal there will be other takers. Quote

Sweep Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 If the Celtic connection is true, it would be fantastic for us to have a partnership with a massive club like Celtic, they've a huge following globally, and any relationship we have with them can only be a good thing. If it upsets the 8 Rangers fans we have, then I'm sure we'll get over it. It isn't impossible that this is the start of a merger between the clubs, which could ultimately see us relocate to Glasgow, giving us the massive fan base we want, and just as importantly giving Celtic a realistic chance of getting into the Premier League. Win/Win really Quote

Why would Eddie accept any deal where he writes off the debt? He's a multi millionaire and you don't get to become one by giving shedloads of cash away . Quote

He's a multi millionaire and you don't get to become one by giving shedloads of cash away . Because the debt isn't really as big as it looks on paper and because £30m > £0, which is what he's currently in line to get back. Edited April 20, 2015 by Traf Quote
MalcolmW Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Why would Eddie accept any deal where he writes off the debt? He's a multi millionaire and you don't get to become one by giving shedloads of cash away . Because his role is to pass the club on to someone he trusts to run it sensibly. As long as he is happy with the new regime then writing off the debt was always a potential outcome. No wonder the chairman gets fed up of questions about the scale of our debt. Quote
Gonk Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 He spent a decade drawing loans out at 10% interest. He's not skint. Quote
Astley White Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 He spent a decade drawing loans out at 10% interest. He's not skint. So has he made more out the club than he's put in? Quote
stevieb Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 So has he made more out the club than he's put in? Quick. Someone get the lid back on this can of worms... Again Quote

freds dad Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Evidence, please. We don't need evidence. Everyone knows Eddie and Phil have made loads of money out of the club. Quote
tomski Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 So has he made more out the club than he's put in?I think the replies you have got mean no one really knows.I certainly have no idea. Quote
Casino Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 He spent a decade drawing loans out at 10% interest. He's not skint. id need to check how long he charged 10% id also need to check if he actually took the cash - is that not some of the debt? also, its often quoted that he took 10 million a year - there would only have been one year that was the case and thats if he actually took it anyway, there werent many queuing up to get on the bolton wanderers gravy train so fcuking good luck to him Quote
jturner Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 He spent a decade drawing loans out at 10% interest. He's not skint. + if its true he's selling for £30 million, he'll have more than doubled the £14 million he paid for the club Quote
HR Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Which ever way you cook it he has put in significantly more than he's taken out. Some of it smoke and mirrors, I suspect most of it managing cash flow albeit a lot less than the clubs current debt. For a man from the town to commit his money, remain in the background and keep his dignified way of running the club he deserves a statue at the ground. Quote
Guest Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 He's lost and will lose millions. Can't blame him for having had enough. Quote

Guest Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Love that people think Eddie Davies is in profit. That is of course why he's in talks with any man and his dog about selling up at a discounted rate...... Quote

That is of course why he's in talks with any man and his dog about selling up at a discounted rate...... It's not a discounted rate though is it? The man can only spend x number of days in the UK for tax reasons. He isn't fucking struggling. You wouldn't pay tax on fucking huge losses Quote
