Our pensions are a disgrace amongst the worst in Europe.. pensioners having to survive on less than minimum wage for a G6 country it’s embarrassing.

Yep. I’ll beat my drum now. Look at the French system. The final state pension is based on income similar to a private pension. Surely a fairer way than our current scheme. They also retire earlier than us. If only we had a government (of any colour or leaning) who could implement a similar scheme.

They also pay a higher rate of income tax than we do don't they? I mean we could probably do something similar if we paid more tax.

They don’t have public sector pensions either. Egalite!

There is the crux of the issue, Scandinavia pay a fuck load of tax but in the main things work right and folk have a high standard of living.

Trying to do the same without the same levels of taxation won't work.

Bloody socialists (sort of) 😁

Cronyism. It’s not a one party thing.

Strange thought the BBC loved Labour and never say a bad word.

The criminal justice system not taking violent offending seriously enough example #245367

Grabs the hair of one woman and punches her in the head, slams another woman's head into the car dashboard, and punches a third

A suspended sentence order and a £500 fine will teach him I'm sure

Meanwhile a man is jailed for 8 months for kicking a barrier and shouting angry chants

They do. Just proves what Lt. A R. was saying.

They are holding the party in power to account as they did with the Tories. Flies in the face of the criticism.

I’ve seen more governments than most on here. Every one has come under scrutiny by the media. Some more than others.
I’ll be more than happy if this government performs better than the last. It’s in all our interests after all.

It won’t be impervious to criticism though. That’s what political debate is all about. In a free society.

Yes. My dad paid for my grandfather. I paid for my dad, my sons pay for mine, their sons (or daughters) will pay for theirs.
Have you and others only just twigged how it works?

As Nye Bevan said: " The secret of the National Insurance Fund is that there isn't one".

No one has suggested they should be impervious. What I was pointing out , as you are aware, is that the hammering the Labour MP was taking was from probably the best BBC broadcast journalist, which is a clear example  of the BBC not being bias in favour of the lefties which has been a regular comment on here.

But the ones in the middle will also have a lot to gain if the Govt is succesful in turning the country round. We all will.

What is bizarre is people in the middle denying the damage that has been done in last few years. Tory MPs (or ex MPs) tweeting  the smallest piece of economic news to try and pretend everything was rosy.

Pain? What do you describe as pain?
Sorry if I’m beating my drum but my MIL wonders why she has been targeted by a Labour government that she has voted for all her life. She earns between 12-13000 a year and the government has took away £300 that helped her pay her heating bill.
She won’t suffer of course because we will help her out. We do it incrementally, we give her 83p a day.

Socialism my arse.

Correct. That’s socialism at play.

Pretty sure you normally turn your nose up at that sort of shit

People are confusing me on here at the moment 😁 Does this mean you do want socialism or you don't want socialism?
