i will weigh tonight but i suspect ill be a good stone more than mid november

im expecting about 225-230 lbs, which is daft

first 7 lbs will be liquid, but im after 210lbs end of feb

ill bore you with my weekly progress

there will be no dry jan, thats for sure, but i'll go breadless

Americans talk body weight in pounds. We use Stones.

I can visualise a 15, 16, 17, etc., stone bloke but wouldn’t have a clue what 225 lbs was.

I use both

As in, I find it easier to visualise like you in stones

But when weighing in on a regular basis find it easier to just count down the numbers

I know 182lb is 13 stone

That's my target

Find it easier to see progress counting down from 200lb through to 182lb than 14st 2lbs to 13lbs

Yep, sold out rapidly. Waiting list is growing too. I'll be announcing a reccy of the course beforehand soon if you are interested in having a look? Pint in Royal after.

Me too!

Then Howarth Hobble in March... 😵

When will the recce be? I’m still not running, giving it another few days rest maybe a week or so.

Have got the Manchester Marathon in April, agreed to do it again, but not that excited by the prospect. And doing a skyline run in August in Wales – which clashes with the Gisburn Forest half that I really fancied doing this year. Looking for a couple of Ultras mid year as well, but undecided yet.

Do like these LDWA events – very easy on the pocket.

Here we go again

Last night was my 12th night drinking in a row so well ready for a break

No ambition for a dry January this year but happy to see where a few days off takes me

Will ease back into exercise next few days and start a proper regime next Monday

Not weighed myself for a while but no doubt it will be around the customary new year 200lb

My aim is to get down to 182lbs having got below 190 last year

as expected, weighing in at the upper 190s

decided to defer dry January so now it starts on Sunday and may or may not include weekends, but definitely (hopefully) school nights at least

plans in place for an improved diet but definitely having a kebab tonight and probably a curry tomorrow

started the exercise this week though

just done my fastest 5k in 2 years

counting down to having a beer tonight already

and that kebab

Watched 2 episodes of “You Are What You Eat” on Netflix last night. Food for thought! (See what I did there). But already makes you wanna choose alternatives to meat when you watch it.

Sounds like a typical Netflix series. No doubt next year there will be series promoting the opposite

I viewed only so far on this thread and pinched ideas for you good people.

So my story. My weight was generally okay around 12 and a half stone which I was happy with but during covid a combination of working from home and eating shit food I ballooned to 16st 2lb.

My regular blood tests raised the issue of my cholesterol being dangerously high and this was discussed with my GP. She wanted me to start taking statins but as you are then on them for life it wasn’t something I was too keen on. The alternative was to eat healthier and exercise more, I can’t go running as I have a dodgy knee, but I can get more steps in so this is what I did.

I started my healthy diet on 10th January 2023 and so my weight is now down to 13st 6lb but I want to get back to 12st 6lb by the summer.

Ive learnt to love salads again, don’t miss the takeaways and have drunk less than 3 bottles of red wine since I started. I do still like a drink but it’s now G&T with slimline tonic. I also have 2 days a month off my healthier eating were I might eat got out for a meal or have a few beers and a pie at the match.

Thanks for reading and if I can do it, I have no willpower whatsoever then anyone can.

I weighed in at 13st 10lb though I'm built like a gypsy's dog so usually around the 11st 5lb mark

Got all the gear like gym membership, bike etc to go for it. Just need a decent pair of running trainers and I'm off

Booze wise reckon I'll just keep it to the footy so an excuse for a few tomorrow 😀

Just remember that carbs break down into sugar anyway - well glucose. And that alcohol is liquid bread! 🙂

Sounds like you've got more willpower than you give yourself credit for mate! Well done! Slow and steady 👍

True about LDWA.

Reccy will be one night soon. Probably a Tues night, possibly 16th,  so I can incorporate it into club fell run. I'll keep you posted.

Will hang fire on this until I know when FA Cup replay is.
