I believe he's a fucking idiot for going out at all. If he/she weren't convinced he was yet safe, he should have stayed home.

At best, have a quick half mile down a quiet lane near the farm.

For me, this is arguably worse than his initial trip.

If you're fishing for angle that he was just out for a jolly, then you could be correct, who knows- though a quick mooch whilst your kid has a piss is hardly a whale of a time. Would have been better staying at the farm and having another walk in the private woods.

So having considered his explanation and an alternative, then yes it may well be a case of truth being stranger than fiction.

Really? So you don’t agree the ‘eye test’ is solid gold bullshit then?

If you ever get caught shagging, just explain that you checking your dick still worked.

Indeed.

Had a conversation with the PM, but neither of us can remember it as we were both spaced out.

10 Minutes later drive 300 miles.

Whats not to believe ?

I think he wanted to get away from London because of the media near his house, was worried about his kid and wife getting ill, and thought going to Durham would be better for all his family. Probably right.

I think he and his wife were better after a few days so went out on her birthday for a drive to a beauty spot,  saw that it was busy so stopped at some woods on the way back, before going back to work the day after. If that is true and he admitted it,  he'd have to resign.

If everyone did the same, some would break down, some would have accidents, some would get ill on the way and have to stop driving,  some would have to visit service stations. We were experiencing around 1k deaths per day when they went to Barnard.

Bored of it now. Hope he gets pushed or quits in a few days so we can concentrate on important stuff.

If he was irrelevant nobody would have cared. My neighbours have done worse. He's one of the most powerful people on the UK, he fucked up, broke rules that he had a part in creating,  hasn't appologised, and has either spun a bullshit excuse or has had a stream  of unfortunate coincidences.

He’s irrelevant. What he did had no effect on me whatsoever. He broke the rules. I don’t actually give a shit. Folk round here are breaking more rules than him. I’d rather club them to death like an Icelandic seal than take note about what he’s done

He should have resigned. He hasn’t. Boris has backed him. Stupid. Does it affect me? Nope!

And folk drone on and on, on social media, and football forums about it.......

You utter arse peely look what you’ve made me do 😀

He's talking shit.

Before they left, his wife had no typical covid symptoms. That afternoon she'd suddenly been sick once and felt like she may pass out. He had no symptoms.

Most people in their 40's arent hospitalised, it's less than 2% for women in their 40s, and most of them have underlying conditions.  Most who are hospitalised do so after several days of worsening symptoms. The chance of two 40yr olds in the same household, one a woman, being hospitalised suddenly,  from covid, at exactly  the same time is miniscule. If it did  happen you'd get several days warning, and it's highly likely that one would be hospitalised before the other. He knew this.

What did he think was hoing to happen to his child if both parents  became hospitalised at the same time, killed by journalists? More likely one of his relatives would have come down to London to help before it got to that stage, dont you think?

He says he suspected he and his wife had covid. He knew that many people are asymptomatic for several days, yet still chose to drive.

He wasn't ill at all when they drove up late at night, (conveniently for him, as it avoids questions about him being fit to drive)  yet the next morninig he had covid symptons and a serious fever, nice coincidence, and was really ill apparently.

Then, 5 days later he left the house again to pick his wife and kid up from hospital. Must have been well suddenly , ive had flu a couple of times, no chance I'd be driving anywhere. No taxis apparently - none in the whole of Durham! Bullshit.

They went to Barnard Castle, 45 mins drive away to test his eyes, on his wifes birthday. And he felt sick so they sat by a river.

On the way back the kid needed a piss so they stopped and played in a wood for a bit. Bullshit. If you feel sick, youre a high profile govmt aid, you shouldnt be out of the house except for emergencies, you tell your kid to have a piss asap and get your mrs to drive back.

Liar

His wife’s account

'Day in, day out for ten days he lay doggo with a high fever and spasms that made the muscles lump and twitch in his legs. He could breathe, but only in a limited, shallow way,' she wrote.

'After a week, we reached peak corona uncertainty. Day six is a turning point, I was told: that's when you either get better or head for ICU. ‘

Yet he could drive to the hospital on day 5?

One of them is bullshitting to the max.

Should we fuck move on

Let’s keep it right at the top of the agenda until that cunt gets thrown under the bus

I hope they don’t get asked a question about anything else ever again until he’s gone

Enough pressure from the press and public and Boris’s hand will be forced so they government can move on from it, until then get the popcorn out

I’m loving ur hatred, shines thru like a beacon 😊

To be fair, Birch is a fairly sensible chap. He's not militant either way.

I did 3 weeks of us both working from home with 2 kids (2 and 6...shit names) and we decided to ask for the Mrs to be furloughed... Luckily accepted or we'd both have been suicidal by now.

It's still not great even with her furloughed to be honest.

My greatest learning over the past few days is confirmation that political bias prevents a whole bunch of otherwise (semi) intelligent people from making sensible, reasonable or fair observations on any issue where there’s a whiff of political gain to be had. And both sides are as bad as each other. Embarrassing.

No danger of any emptiness, it makes for good viewing with nothing else to watch / no sport on

This guy has been a horrible little cretin for some time now, some of the stuff he has pulled like forcing Javid out of number 11 and kicking Ken Clarke out really don’t sit well with me

Let’s see how it pans out, he will get taken down the greasy poll at some point.

Yes there will be plenty of Tories hoping he gets the bullet which is what makes this more interesting. He has made plenty of enemies.

Of course this is an open goal for the opposition and the amount of dithering and blathering from Boris will make great viewing.
