Site Supporter superjohnmcginlay Posted July 15, 2021 Site Supporter Share Posted July 15, 2021 It’s an odd system/ I had to do a lateral flow to go to the cricket Saturday. You can register any result you want and choose which day you do / did the test, within a 24 hour time period. I could’ve not done the test and just registered the last flow test number and gone. I did the test and was negative btw, but it seems a nonsense. Wife’s just had 10 days at home being a lazy teacher cos she was pinged from a colleague, she’s jabbed and had it and tested every day negative but couldn’t crack on. Now the lads in isolation again as his bubble are all sent home. On the flip side, had a cricket match forfeited last week cos a batter walked out at 117/7 he had a PCR on Thursday and hadn’t told anyone, he got pinged as positive at the tea break and still didn’t say anything to his team mates but let slip to his friend who luckily brought it to everyone’s attention. He got a thump off his teammates. They went straight to isolation.

If you know you're positive, then it's pretty unacceptable to be putting others at risk

I know people who happily isolate as they get paid. like begging to be pinged. I have given up now. if people demand i check in then i do but i don't just do it anymore. too many folk fuck it off and i am sick of being fucked over for following the rules. A friend of mine went mad at me for going to wembley and said i was a complete wanker etc. the same lad works on the oil and gas and travels to red list countries moaning about isolation. prick
Site Supporter Winchester White Posted July 16, 2021 Site Supporter Share Posted July 16, 2021 It would seem there is growing concern over plans to pretty much open up entirely on Monday. Cases are shooting up and hospital admissions are on the increase. What do the good folk of WW think? I was of the opinion that we had to live with it now, but I just have a niggle in the back of my mind that it might just be a little too much a little too soon? I nurse some of the most vulnerable people in LL/Breightmet and Tong Fold. Do you know how many + patients we have had on our case load In the last 6/9months? None. I'm not worried. I reckon we'll have a few months of relative freedom, and then back into the current level of restrictions come the winter, until the spring time Edited July 16, 2021 by Sweep

Good news from the coalface 👍 So it is kids and teenagers getting it now by the sounds of it. Let's hope no mutations come of it and we can enjoy the back end of summer. Moderators Zico Posted July 16, 2021 Moderators Share Posted July 16, 2021 Saw that hospital admissions were increasing 50 deaths the other day and they reckon 100-200 a day in August So who's dying?

So we are out for a meal probably wont wear a mask. Going to supermarket or public transport I wont. If I get to a pub and it is chocca might find another. I do not why people are talking as though it is all or nothing. Rules are relaxed but no need to start licking everyone you meet. As long work do not expect me to go in I will be ok, eventually will do a day or two a week on office but won't go back to 5 days

Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted July 16, 2021 Site Supporter Share Posted July 16, 2021 Whitty has prepared the ground today. Sooner or later, if things carry on increasing, hospitals are going to start getting too laden with cases, and not be catching up on the backlog. Only way I can see cases slowing is by vaccinating under 16s- and today's revelations that 30% of youngsters who get it are suffering some level of organ damage may be the decisive factor. Workplaces short of employees too. No one wants a return to more restrictions, so more vaccinated seems the best way.

Site Supporter Winchester White Posted July 16, 2021 Site Supporter Share Posted July 16, 2021 The problem is if folk unwell with Covid end up in hospital it then stops loads of other departments functioning properly. Loads of wards split into red and green areas, staff shortages, more paperwork, cancelled appointments/surgery, the list is endless. The rest of the world seem to be looking at us as if we have lost our minds but I do get it to some degree, we have to get the wheels turning again otherwise we really are fucked economically. Even with the Brexit Bonus
