Shane Warne

Saw Shane Warne’s Twitter condolences this morning to Marsh’s family. We were stood next to Warny and Michael Vaughan in Hobart in January a few times before they went onto the pitch for tv interviews. Terrible news.
The best Aussie ever.

Gutted for the loss of one of the top 5 cricketers of all time. Many commenting how 52 is too young to die, for men it's not; it's a fuckin' dangerous age. 50-54, get yerselves checked, for everything. From one with experience...........

Them in Aus wont even be up yet. Mad news to wake up to.

It was mate. Shocked. There had been rumours for a while down here that his diet had affected his health adversely but I don't think anyone expected this.

Reporting heart attack down here but a couple of snide rumours that he died having a 'Thai massage'. Probably bullshit?

Tried to think of comparison over here to tell my lad how big he was.

Freddie Flintoff the closet I could think.

But cricket is their main sport, so I said Wayne Rooney or Alan Shearer.

Is that not like comparing Stanley Matthews to players of today?

Would Bradman be the same against the elite sportsmen of today?

Dunno

Bradman played on pitches that were like cobbled streets wearing a cloth cap some hay over his shins, and he still clattered everyone over the rope to end with simply unimaginable figures. Then again, WG Grace did the same.

Id honestly put Warne as his equal but as a bowler.

The best 5 cricketers of all time are Warne, Bradman, Grace, Anderson and Tendulkar.
