Cheers guys, I had a triple heart bypass in Northern General on Tuesday so I’m just recovering and listening to Saturdays fare which helped enormously. A bit sore but they’ve been brilliant in the hospital. Not something I’d recommend and means I won’t be getting across for a month or two but hopefully fit for the play offs if we need them but after yesterday I still haven’t given up on catching Cardiff. Anyway thanks again for your wishes, I know I’m often a pain on here but I really do love the banter and views.

Surely there's point in one's life where you question the decision to enter a playing field at a professional football match wearing a gimp mask.
  5. Is it just me who reads the text at the bottom in Paddy MaGuiness' voice?

@tomski likes this 😂 On a serious note great to hear you’re well after the bypass. Look after yourself @Whitesince63
  7. I’ve watched this 3 times now and will probably watch it some more. Credits deservedly go to CBT but just try focusing on Dempseys performance…..his every touch, cross and pass was exactly what we missed in the first half. Excellent cameo, but he goes under the radar a bit these days perhaps because he is a water carrier.

Thanks again all you guys I just want to be back for the play offs if we don’t catch the Taffs. I know you will swanny but try not to worry too much about dad when he goes in for his op. It isn’t nice obviously but to the medical staff it’s now a fairly routine operation. Give him my regards and I hope everything goes well for him. Up the Whites. 😁

3 goals, 3 points, 3 heart bypasses. Great results. Get well soon.
  10. From 2-0 down on 87 minutes to 3-2 up less than 10 minutes later. Opta have no records of a team in the Premier League or EFL ever winning after being 0-2 that late in a game and playing awful. We witnessed history. We love every second of it.
  11. The revulsion I feel right now is biblical.
  12. consistency you can't have a rule at one ground like that, and not another in the same league it's not that difficult to understand is it? thickos
  13. I should turn my alerts off when I’m away. I thought WWIII had kicked off!
  14. I've noticed that all season, if we've equalised with any time left at all, we've hardly celebrated, its all been about getting the ball and players back to the halfway line. Barnsley, Blackpool, Huddersfield, Exeter, Doncaster, Lincoln, Reading, Blackpool, Wycombe. No ballooning or pile on's. When teams equalise against us (Reading, Rotherham, Orient, Burton, Blackpool) its like they've won the game and achieved their goal. A good attitude to have.

Think I've mentioned before but Joseph Platt was my Great Grandad. My Mum who has just turned 80 lost her Grandad at 6 weeks old. I don't think my Nan was very close to her Dad so all this feels a bit factual rather than me getting emotional about it. I notice some relatives of the victims got hospitality on Saturday so could leverage that in future I guess. 🙂
  16. I don't think be will at all. A small club he saved from relegationast season and one that was doing quite well this. Whether it just went stale, or lack of quality, the results haven't been as good. That doesn't suddenly mean he isn't good enough. In fact he will have gained more experience. BSA was sacked by Blackpool, then ended up taking Notts County on an incredible promotion path, with a record winning margin. The rest is history. Nobby has played at the highest level, and may well do better with a higher quality of player, further up. Either way, he has cut his teeth, and will definitely be considered for other roles, should he want them.
  17. It's been a few hours since he last posted Maybe he GOT DEAD

  19. If it's yours you'll be reet. So long as it's a real one. If it's acrylic 'fraid you're fucked.

More games like that and we'll all be needing bypasses. Some were actually on the bypass going home at 0 - 2
  21. So as you head back to Australia, Trump will be declaring victory, pulling his military out and leaving utter fucking mayhem behind him. And soiled trousers. In summary, he’s wandered into the room, shat his pants, made no sense and is now being wheeled back to the sunshine. You are alike, you and him.
  22. Scabby bastards will probably end up coming up smelling of roses as they have done twice before. The indifference of the current owner has been a good status quo so hopefully that equilibrium is preserved for the future. Relegation to League 2 would help matters but sadly I see both them and the seaside shit just about surviving. Will the turd ever flush?
  23. No excuse for linesman not to give that

  25. !. We rely on you for medical advice FFS. 2. Are there other indications of anxiety/nervousness beyond nail biting? Twiddling eyebrows, facial ticks etc? If so, you should probably find different football club to follow.

Its also remarkable how we seem to improve after he's gone off 😀 Me and you made as much contribution as Apter did to our win on Saturday. And those 3 consecutive draws which ended our realistic top 2 hopes, we equalised all 3 late on after he'd gone off. He's not terrible by any stretch, but we do have better options even before ACD returns.
  27. I can't claim to have paid close attention but the few times I watched his teams, they always looked well-organised and well-coached but were desperately short of the quality to make it count

My mum was at the match but in the Lever End with her friend. She used to tell the story of how exciting it looked on the Embankment with the crowd swaying, they had no idea of the deaths. They then walked home to Farnworth where her mum was at the end of the street waiting for her as she had heard on the wireless about the tragedy and didn’t know if my mum was involved.
  30. I do feel some of the impact from CBT and Burstow was because they were fresh.. Play them from the start and they'll not have the same impact.

Two cheeks of the same arse. Social media just highlights what an absolute bunch of freaks there are on both sides.
  35. And rightly so
  36. We did have that extraordinary comeback win at Mansfield during COVID - another 3-2. In that one though it all happened in the last 10 minutes, not the last two plus added time! I can recall us coming back from 2-0 down at Northampton on the last day of the season in the late 80s and doing the same at Burnden against Crewe in the early 90s. Again though nothing to match the lateness of yesterday's drama.
  37. Happy Clapper
  38. Moments like that are why we do it. I've no throat left. I'm not going to bother with any kind of tactical analysis; that's a truly bonkers game, an unforgettable 10 minutes, and mentally, it's going to stand us in great stead for the run in. Might even put the wobbles up Cardiff... What a season this has been already - it could yet end up being an all-time great.
  39. Not a big Dearden fan but at least he's passionate unlike that fuckin Scottish prick Clark who sounds like a robot
  40. Scoring goals so late so regularly isn’t luck. It’s belief in themselves and a reluctance to accept defeat. In part by the fact that opposition are just absolutely fucked at the end and also that never say die attitude we might question their decision making, execution, ability at times but you cannot question their heart players running through a brick wall for the shirt and the club. That’s alls we ask
  41. Yes that was a balmy day when we could taste promotion, till Rotherham equalised at about 95 minutes. The only game in the last 5 that we didn't win, won the 2 before and 2 after. Would have gone up under Phil Neal without that equaliser and his legacy would have looked different. Who knows if there would have been a Rioch, McGinlay, Branaghan etc, although I'd say we were much more ready for promotion in 93 compared to 91 and mighg have come straight down.
