FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

WW is being ruined. Cheese can have his moments but ffs this is a whole new level; it's worse than SPAM emails. Yes I'm mostly a lurker on WW, but I genuinely enjoy the gossip, opinions and other stuff Bolton and beyond. Atm the dominance of Sluffy and his dissertation level word counts are dulling my soul. Thank Christ we went up otherwise it would be even more unbearable
  3. All those full of Sluffy's versions of War And Peace.
  4. She knows more about football than any of us. I also don’t see people like Merson getting any level of hate, when it seems that English is his 3rd language
  5. just reign in it no need for the essays, regular dictionary definitions, and apparent desire to put folk in their place

I really think we need to make every penny and every squad place count this season Unfortunately, I don't think we can risk taking a pung on Burstow
  7. I'm beginning to see why there's only about 3 people on the Bolton Nuts forum.
  8. I'm not sure it's a good idea (in general) to base policy on the wishes or ideas of bereaved parents

Was inviting this aggressive clown to return the best idea ? How's it going ?
  10. Opening game. Tight, tetchy and a narrow England win or a draw. An adequate start in tournament football. Hope they prove me wrong and smash it. The big names are up and at it. Messi, Haaland, Mbappe etc. Next one Kane?
  11. We disagree then. I would legislate to keep males out of child care employment if I were ever in position to do so.
  12. Great post. Fantastic first performance. When I think back to some of our really poor and/or uninspiring first games, it puts it in perspective how good that was. Really enjoyed that opening England Game 👏

No wonder we haven't signed anyone.

Apologies, got this one wrong, jumped the gun I think. Schumacher still doesn't think he's the right profile.

Another who would bring in Burstow for 750k or less. Loads of improvement in him. Plus if we go for and get Kenny he may not be ready for the opening of the season.

I’d give up trying if I were you 51 because sluffy’s never wrong, won’t even meet you half way and he’ll drive you mad if you let him. My thoughts too on Mason, good L1 player but I just think we need to look for quality rather than quantity. I’d much rather have four or five top quality players than eight or ten average ones. Proven Championship or older PL players for the key positions who can adapt immediately plus a couple of quality young loan players. We’d spend the same amount of money but for me get more bang for our buck. Whatever we do it’s going to cost money but as we saw last season just the likes of ACD, CBT, Ruben and Kenny made all the difference to the squad with that bit of extra quality.

Yeah no shade on Burstow he did a decent job for us and im thankful of the goals he got, but there are loads of players as good for next to nowt or better out there for not much more.

I don't see it personally, a good league 1 striker, yes, but that isn't enough for the Championship and spending hundreds of thousands for a bit part player, would be silly at this stage. Plus it wouldn't be good for his career at this stage and his age.

Hopefully we're aiming higher (just my opinion).
  20. I remember that, was outside Normid at 7.30am for the Boxing Day sale. Got talking to the bloke behind me “what have you come for? The large 30inch tv, manager came down the line and said you have the last voucher for the television, didn’t have the heart to take it , gave it to the bloke and I ended up with a canteen of cutlery!!
  21. I get that he’s got time to fill, but it’s a pointless debate. We’ll likely bring 8-10 more in and probably lose 2-3 that we currently have. All it does is point out what we all know, we’ve cleared the decks and are at the start of a transfer window having moved up a league.

They may have lost a bit of pace to play now

Barness and Charlton proved to great signings but when we first got them, after losing some good players, it felt like we were facing another prolonged spell in the championship rather than be challenging

I'd have those first two, as a partnership, any day of the week. Sensational together, straight from the off. A joy to see in much the same way as a good striking partnership.
  25. An oldie but a goldie, you can substitute any football team you want for Labour. By oldie but a goldie I mean the link not you. You are just an oldie 😂😂😘👍

It's like nobody remembers Paul Warhurst, John Newsome, Anthony Barness or Simon Charlton.
  27. Only ever heard DEI, though it matters not a jot. Same fuckin letters. Remarkable that anyone would think it did, let alone it be "far right". Desperate Etymology of an Idiot.
  28. Yeah let them know. I just think a mothers love and females maternal instinct is completely irreplaceable. No doubt your friends have done a great job. But for me, a baby/infant/toddler should be bought up by a mother. Obviously exceptionalsituations can happen in life where this might not be able to happen. My lads mate at school and his bro have been bought up by their dad superbly after their mum passed away for instance. But first and foremost a baby should be with a mother and two blokes adopting one and bringing it up is completely unnatural and goes against instincts that created mankind. Good on em like. But a baby should be with a mother.
  29. I'm not tolerant of people calling me slow you fucking prick. I haven't criticised you and asked a simple question of someone else and yet here you are having a go at me and then you wonder why folk get wound up by you.

I like it for off-sides, as there is no interpretation. Oh, and of course it's great for identifying a clear foul by a striker, on a defender, before going onto score at Wembley... 😀

  36. Both DEI and EDI are both widely used here in the UK. The Guardian regularly use the acronym DEI.
  37. It's weird and shit. But great excuse for a holiday.
  38. With regard to the grooming gangs inquiry, until it is concluded, no one can compare figures. The whole point of the inquiry is that it was covered up. The scale of it is unprecedented. Thousands of cases over more than 20 authorities covered up or not investigated. It won’t be concluded during this government’s tenure that’s for sure.
  39. 🎣 Neil Thompson would have been 65 this year. Sir Tim Berners-Lee is 71 ( a good age) both responsible in their own way of allowing stupid people to say stupid things to a much wider audience than they deserve.
  40. We'd ventured off in to adoption territory there old bean. As for blokes working in nursery's, nah not for me. Just doesn't feel right. There was one working at my lads nursery and it's just not a place for a bloke to be for me.
  41. Given our defence spending that yacht might actually have the closest we have to a warship in the region.
  42. Again I think you think I'm saying kids going to bloke couples put them more in danger or something which I'm not. I'm saying as human beings a baby should be raised by a mother. The whole of our civilisation is based on this fact. You cannot replicate maternal instinct that a female mother holds. We literally exist as people because of this. Yes babies and infants can go on and have perfectly happy lives. I'm not saying otherwise. But a baby, as our whole civilisation suggests, is better being bought in to the world and raised by a mother. Not two blokes. As for your research, unless your research covers the history of mankind and maternal powers and instincts vs a handful of gay couples bringing up kids fine then it's pretty much null and void.
  43. There’s multiple reasons the majority of kids end up with their mothers after a parents separation, this is one of them
  44. Sluffy is the third person and if he’s not available it’s @little whitt
  45. In mitigation, when you're in the same division for 8 years, it can lose its appeal. And while we can definitely say one of the reasons for our increased crowds is the feelgood factor created by our owners added to the best S/T prices we've had at this stadium, the opposite is true at Blackburn. Owners they don't like, relatively expensive S/Ts. It makes us appreciate what we've got even more.
