Do you think the current migrant crisis is all going just swimmingly?Ā

Are we seeing double standards from the patriots wanting to display pride in the country they were born into, but pour scorn and threaten those who have actively decided they want to become British?

Surely they should take pride in the fact that all these migrants want to come here and become a part of the country they claim to love.

Our next door neighbour has a pole, swaps his flags regularly (almost if according to a calendar on his fridge), some of them are really random. Couple of others round our way have them too, one guy an Armed Forces one, another a Ukraine one. Each to their own I suppose.

We've another neighbour who cuts his grass with airport grade ear defenders on

Does he work at an airport?

Nice old lad near me has flagpole in his back garden that backs onto a dual carriageway. Ex boot neck started off with Union Jack on Royal occasions and then NHS during Covid. Got a few beeps and progressed onto all sorts of flags some of which get sent to him. Harmless fun that cheers him and commuters up.

Another bloke on our street has Ā Union Jack puts up but got warned about the flammable nature of his Liverpool one he put up when they won Covid title.

Some vile tory MP for IOW has tried to jump on the next bandwagon. Attacking folk who get Motability

No facts, just gut feel

I hate where this country is going

Theres genuine concerns, I get that, but where does it stop

There is a short thread about Motability from 2011. It’s an interesting 5 min read.Ā

The motability scheme is terribly managed, and frankly abused.

It needs genuine reform,Ā  and it's nothing new.

The mp was simply highlighting exactly this, but as usual it is generalised and not considered in the round.

Had the health Secretary made the point, I suspect the response would have been more considered.

The interview I listened to on LBC, he wasnt 'simply highlighting' anything

He was spouting outright lies

Not as bad as the ones who support us but also have a Premier League team.

Or pretend to.

The proposed welfare cuts would have indirectly reduced the number of people eligible for the motability scheme due to reduced PIP payments. They couldn’t get it through though so it will continue to be abused by some.Ā

You really need to get over this Liverpool/Ireland guilt trip mate. No one on here really cares about your glory hunting. You are the only one on here from what I can see with a genuine 'second team'.

You are papping week in, week out about Liverpool results and comings and goings and dishonouring our national anthem. Not me with family connections with Napoli and Rangers. All you will ever see from me is a response to what others have said rather than monotonous 'allez, allez' type shite.

Other than that, I plead guilty to attending matches of Malaga FC from time to time - not through any sort of allegiance. Just craving a live football fix during my extended sojourns in the area.

Only one club embedded in my soul mate.

There's got to be some amazing actors out there who can convince the assessor they're eligible for the high rate mobility component.

Well I did say some, I can’t put a figure on it but as I said, the government wanted to cut the PIP entitlement so either they think it’s being abused or they are heartless and attacking the most vulnerable. I’ll give them the credit of the doubt and say they were trying to make it more difficult to abuse.Ā

Whilst in town today, I saw an old customer of mine’s business with two union flags proudly flying outside his business premises. Good lad. He may be a member on here.šŸ˜‰

Last year it was farmers driving round complaining about IHT.

The Palestinian flags have been prominent for the past 2 years. Have Ā you been away?

When I was doing recovery driving, I took a car from Bolton to Sheffield for a brake light issue.. Nearest authorised motobility garage that could fit it in.Ā

Inefficiencies galore.Ā

Simply too many of them, and the level of disability/age that qualifies is bizarre.Ā

Over 20% of new cars are purchased on this scheme.

Free servicing, tax and tyres.

My brother worked in car sales for a good while, decades ago, and he saw plenty of ridiculous cases.Ā

Been going on for years.
