They didn’t impress me at all really. Very similar to our promotion side under parky. Big lads up front & at the back and put the ball in the box at every opportunity. It’s a formula that’s worked at this level time after time. Shakiest we’ve looked at the back for a while purely because of that. Not used to getting peppered.

Moylan the best player on the pitch to be fair but a lot of his success is based on picking up the 2nd balls after the initial clearance

Its given Stockport and Bradford a boost too, Stockport 3 above us if they win their game in hand and Bradford 2 if they win their 2.  Lincoln will be kicking themselves, well clear with a win and now they've made it a 4 horse race for 2nd.

That'd be a pretty glass half empty view on on ImpsWays surely.

They're 9 & 10 points clear of Stockport and Bradford, who play each other on Tuesday while they've got Northampton at home.

If we're thinking they're about to give up 10 points to Bradford, they'd probably still be fucked with a 12 point lead. That's a proper collapse either way.

Could've put the game to bed today and got punished by SSD, but hard to make the case that a point doesn't favour them.

First hour, we were pretty pathetic to be honest & looked spooked by Lincoln's intensity. We faltered into the same pattern of messing around the back with fear of trying to progress the ball forward whilst getting beat to every ball in the key areas of the pitch. Subs although 15 minutes late did change the game both Kenny & Rodrigues looked sharp got us on the front foot with the intent we'd lacked. Great header from Dalby yet again, he's shown if he gets service he's more than capable in this league & with Bonham at least we own a keeper who can actually save a shot. Weak link is the full backs by a country mile, you have a centre back at left back who can't overlap & can't get out quick enough to stop crosses then you have a winger playing right back who turns into trouble losing the ball every time he gets on it. Did well to get the point though & keeps us in the mix which keeps it interesting

Sorry mate but I completely agree . As said before they are a good version of Stevenage/Burton/Northampton  all hoof and boot . unfortunately they do it better than anyone else in the league .

The proper footballing teams in this league dont have the players to deal with those wimbledon/cambridge tactics .

Whilst I like our defenders individually , I dont like our defence .

lastly Kenny looked very rapid and bodes well .

A point might have favoured them before the game but they know we were out of the promotion race with 10 minutes left and now we're not.  Same goes for Bradford realistically, they've made up 2 points today, its only a 10 point lead if Bradford lose their game in hand.  7 points isn't a huge lead with so many games left, 2 went up in smoke in 10 minutes.  Just saying they'll be gutted its not 2 more however its dressed up.

I didn't realise Bradford play Stockport Tuesday so fair enough assuming Lincoln beat Northampton they will be in a great position.

They haven’t lost since November there is no sign of them blowing up they just need to win there home games and solid away from home snd there not getting caught

Lincoln showed today why they are second and have been on such an excellent run. No frills but they have a formula that all of their players fit into and they are cohesive. By nicking a point against them we have done better than anyone else in League One lately.

As regards the bigger picture we have kept ourselves in touch with the top two spots - just. Albeit Lincoln have that game in hand and if they win it the gap really does like wide.

We have to keep some pressure on them (while remembering there are others around who will be thinking the same - Stockport especially). The one thing about Lincoln is that this is uncharted territory for them for decades as a club and fanbase. The closer they get to promotion being a reality the more they will have to deal with psychologically. If they start faltering we have to be ready to pounce.

.... and yes I am probably clutching at straws.

Must get that in my calendar as an absolute festival of football to watch as a neutral.

Will have Stansted's air traffic control on alert.

A good point all things considered.

Lincoln fans I spoke to in the pub afterwards were fairly happy with a draw but one thought they deserved to win. They haven't been in the second division since the 1960's. They are buzzing about where they are but also seemed happy with the fact they will probably get straight relegated from the championship. New american owner and apparent plans for a new ground, though nothing has come to fruition yet

Same as many others have said - it’s a very good point in the end. Generally a good point away at a team that hasn’t lost in 13 but also psychologically because they lost it in the last 10 when they should have put us to bed in the first 70 mins or so with the chances they had.

Plenty of defending how good a side they were - thought I was on a fucking Lincoln board at one point. I’ll stick by my original comment (but expand slightly) they’re a shit footballing team. As were we under Parky. They don’t need decent centre mids, their initial thought wherever they are on the pitch is to get it forward, in and around the box as soon as they can, the big fuckers up top cause problems and they pick up second balls. Awful to watch but seriously effective. Shit footballing team, great league 1 team.

Didn’t feel like the midfield was right in how we set up. Dempsey had to start given we’ve won a few with that midfield two, but Sheehan has to come in now and take that spot alongside EE (who managed his game well post ridiculous yellow card).

McAtee did ok but found it hard to link up on a shit tight pitch. I think he’s proving to be better than we all thought, but Kenny showed in that cameo that he’s a step up in quality. Kenny and Dalby up top for the rest of the season will cause all sorts of problems for L1 defences.

Blackett Taylor looked like he had the right back every time in that first 20 mins, but then soon faded and isn’t helped by GJ not really being able to support.

The right hand side was weak. Tutu had a day of bad decision making and Apter hasn’t got going yet. Nothing that they tried seemed to work and Apter’s snatch at that chance late in the first half summed it up.

Forino immense again, especially considering he’s been ill. Bonham very good (I’ll let him off for 1 or 2 flaps and going walkabout considering how much he had to do in the game) - a very decent keeper for this level.

Dalby just keeps showing what he can do. Not his best game generally (difficult against that rugby team) but that finish gets better and better every time you see it.

Obviously hoping for a big 3 points but I’ll take that 1 all day. We’re still in it and I’m not sure we would have been having lost.

Big big game on Tuesday - far from easy but hopefully this ridiculous squad depth will start to show.

We’ve only lost 1 against the top 6 this season. No one will fancy playing us.

Lincoln work within the dark arts. Danny Murphy and others call it clever play, I think they are Fadge’s each to their own I suppose.

I think over the coming weeks we will catch these. That equaliser I think can/will be pivotal.

I assume both parties are happy tonight.

Can’t comment on today’s game as was out at the theatre

tbh i couldn’t care less about Lincoln’s run-in or ours. We can’t affect theirs. Forget it. Just get as many points as we can. Concentrate on us. If we get as many points as we can and them or Cardiff falter then good. If they don’t trip up then so be it, playoffs it is

Lincoln have all the attributes to get the job done for me. They just don't look like slipping up and will very likely be 9 clear come Tuesday. They have some tough games, but so do we.

Cardiff out of sight already.

We had to win today, but it's our blip around Christmas and our poor away form earlier in the season that will cost us the autos.

I hope this is one of those pessimistic posts where someone quotes me again in 2 months saying "this has aged well".... after Lincoln have a horrendous blip. But I just can't see it

SS has made some excellent improvements & has shown a willingness to adapt. He's turning things around. I'd be delighted going into the playoffs with our gaffer and current squad. COYWM
