We're in L1 though.  Are any of our (permanent) players championship quality?

Rhetorical question, I don't care really, I just hope they are good enough to get past the likes of Stockport in the play offs.

Probably not, barring ACD who himself didn't rip up any trees with Blackburn Rovers

ACD is on loan.

Championship quality all day long for me, same as CBT.

That's very much it, a squad for the Championship is a matter for another day. The here and now is about eradicating the habit of letting two a game in. Bradford or Stockport wont indulge it.

Though, in the Championship, at a club who've been pretty iffy, he wasn't playing. He got 7 games for Derby before joining us.

So he evidences the gap very well indeed.

I can't name a Lincoln player. Bet none of them are considered Championship players.

And they will struggle next season in Division 2

Their best player is supposed to be Jack Moylan who John McGinlay said was the best player on the pitch in the recent 1-1 draw. An attacking midfielder who scores goals and is also a grafter.24 year old who they signed from the Irish league

Can't play Johnston and Conway next to each other in a 4 they're too dopey. When They get caught all over the gaff on the break they normally get caught at the same time chasing shadows.

Let’s get promoted first. We can worry about championship level players, when we are in the championship.

Looks like the 3 that went up aren’t coming back down again this year, like last year.

Plus you’ll likely have a couple of financial basket cases in the above.

Plus you may have Blackburn Rovers to fall back on if they stay up😂

Schuey doing an incredible job to have us third then.

Fwiw I would like us to look at defensive reinforcements in the summer, especially on the flanks.

Yes he inherited a shit show, though talented players. Who thought the grass was greener elsewhere. Or who had got too comfortable.

That showed this time last year when a few were already plotting to get away in the summer and a few more thinking about summer holidays

We had no true full backs at the club only wing backs. SS has moved to a flat back four this season but having wing backs hampers us. Taylor and Christie were brought in during the summer but again they are not the answer.

I think we certainly need a new left back to allow Conway to Push up and two quality right backs are our main priority come the summer

Now and again i think to myself, when was the last time we had an ESTABLISHED Right Back????

I might have missed someone forgettable but I'm gonna say Nicky Hunt!!!!!

That's getting on 20 years ffs.

I really don't get this hate towards Gale.

He's a league 1 winger for a reason - he shows moments of brilliance, followed by bad decision making/greed.

If he made the right decision more often that not then he wouldn't be playing at this level. This goes for every single one of our players.

It's also just been decided that he has an attitude problem because apparently he looked like he was sulking when he was on the bench - so what? SS obviously thinks his attitude is good enough so i'll go with his opinion on this one.

I personally prefer a player who is happy to take a risk rather then take the easy/safe option

It doesn't really matter in the end if they make up a decent Championship team and keep their head above water.

Sometimes the challenge is adding that higher level quality you think you need without compromising the equilibrium of the changing room and the model your success has been built on.

Then a series of events happened that SS couldn’t have predicted; Erhahon got booked and went into his shell, CBT injured (which upset the balance an d quality on the left) and Tutu had a brain fart in the box.

I was gobsmacked to learn that this is the first time EE has been booked in a game that wasn't against Lincoln (2 games, 2 yellows)

Is Taylor injured or just SS doesn’t rate him?

He's had a few off the field problems by all accounts.

From the couple of times I've seen him he's had a few ON field problems as well.

Fair point.  TBH his career record is very much "L1" so maybe our first impressions aren't a true reflection - that wouldn't be the first time.

I thought Cissoko was a class above on his debut at Barnsley!

We had a whole thread discussing how we managed to get Simons for less than we sold Tomo for.

And we all wondered how we'd managed to get Forss to play in L1 after his debut.

What do you mean by ESTABLISHED ? And why is it in capitals ?

JDC played 44 league games in his first season and 42 the next. First season here he was also in EFL team of the season.

Who are struggling in division 2 .

The point being they went up after finishing 10 points behind us, and everyone said they'd come straight back down (I certainly did).  They finished 17th, well clear of relegation above Stoke, Derby, Hull and PNE.  I think us and any other L1 team would take that next season.

It gives a club a foothold in the division, it doesn't give immunity from future relegation fights.
