Blimey I was at that game, forgot it was a Thursday, it was dead, only 7k there (none of the false attendance figures then).

Two days before that I went to Leicester for a 1-1 draw, McGinlay again (they went up in play offs).

One of those rare dull seasons of being nowhere near top or bottom.

Remember that game vividly as my Nan had died the day before.

We still went to the game and it caused warfare with my mum and dad :D

Surprised there's been no mention of the "warpaint " game yet.  FA Cup, big crowd for the time & I think we lost but there weren't many Luton fans still there to see it !!!

We did lose the match. It was 0-1. Didn't go like clockwork for them though.

Bit before my time but the Luton droogs took a pasting in the Devonport End in the 70s. Got a fair way in on shock value before the Dockyardies realised they were in eyeliner.

First time watching Luton in a league game for me too.

Can't see anything other than Stockport winning that game in hand so imagine we'll be 4th at kick off.

In our hands and both us and Bradford up against teams with something to pay for makes it interesting. Fancy us to nick a win 2-1.

We didn't play Luton in 96/97 in the league, we did play them in the FA Cup (6-2 at home after a draw away, it was probably the only time I've seen us in an FA Cup replay played on a Saturday).

I saw us play Luton twice at home between 76 and 78, and once or twice early 80s all in Div 2.

Any other times we've been in same league as them since 82?

I watched Bolton beat Luton 4-2 in 1970, Terry  Wharton hatrick, including 2 penalties, 1st or 2nd home game of the season, ended up relegated for the 1st time to the old 3rd division. Thats my first recollection of Luton.

We seem to be giving them more tickets. Not sure that is a good idea.

Sounds like all upper tier and half lower tier now? Still, good income at £30 a pop

should be plenty followings next season like that if we go up

also hope that championship footy means we have the demand for the south stand for home fans most games

can't be doing with full / nearly full away ends all the time

Barnsley play off final, perfect example. Having our fans in the south lower added to a brilliant atmosphere.

The Portsmouth game 23/24 was the ideal set up, half upper half lower and same for home support the other. Smaller followings shove them up in the upper and leave South lower for home fans.

Nothing like that happened when I sat there for the Barnsley semi final a couple of years ago.

If anyone's in Lifeline, you can get 2 tickets at £10 each for this.  It was a surprising pick given the other 2 were Exeter and Burton on a Tuesday.  Very rare its a "big" game.

Wont be worth it if we get one injury or lose a player from a sending off.....And iles writing in the Bolton news that SS has a big call with Dalby Saturday is sheer stupidity

Kenny would be a bigger loss than Dalby IMO.

Agreed......Dalby needs a fortnight off, just light training and ready for the play-offs.....The team above has no chance of playing Saturday but i would like at least kenny and ACD rested
