When we didn't get Kenny we signed Forss. It hasn't worked out but his record was exactly what we needed at the time. If you include Papa John's games (broadly equivalent to the SPL) then Forss has five goals this season and Kenny has six.

Basically, if we were all in on Kenny we did a decent job pulling an alternative out of the bag.

Dalby has done relatively well despite never looking threatening. Burstow's loss of form looks terminal. There's absolutely a role for another striker.

Signing CBT and Apter tells me we're still committed to playing wingers rather than a back three/wing-backs, and the amateur tactician in me thinks playing a front two as well would leave a lot of space between the midfield and the forwards

Not a clue if we will bring any in today think we will get to the play/offs with or without Hardie then it is a lottery

Rodrigues used to be a central striker albeit at a lower level, but he has the instincts and can finish - whether or not he still has the fitness remains to be seen but it’s an option as is Burstow. Folk seem to have decided he’s a 10 or an 8 but we already have flexibility in the squad to play either of the systems we’ve used recently.

What I don’t want see today is us desperately paying over the odds for a “marquee signing” and having our kecks pulled down again. 
 

If we can find a ready to go bargain who can make a difference I’ll be chuffed, but I doubt we’ll find one in England, especially on the the last day of the transfer window - unless it’s another PL loanee.

Even at 36 Barnes might be too rich for us even though he’s only played a handful of games for Burnley this season, but if we needed a goal, and had him and Dalby up top with the likes of Demps and Rodrigues buzzing around them it could be a lethal combination. I suspect he wants a Championship club though.
