Whitesince63 Posted February 3 Posted February 3 I’m sure Kenny knows he has something to prove in his time here both to Celtic and Ireland so it’s basically up to him to show that he can deliver. I think he will but only time will tell so I’ll reserve any judgement on the lad until I’ve seen what he does. Let’s be honest though, he’s still young and developing so we should be careful we don’t expect too much. Quote

DazBob Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Kenny looks quick and doesn't panic in front of goal. This is my opinion based on one YouTube compilation. Whilst there I spotted a winger who looks fucking amazing. Some lad called Daniel Braaten. Quote

Lostock Whites Posted February 3 Posted February 3 He doesn't have to be an unbelievable goal scorer just as he doesn't have to be unbelievably shit and a flop. If he can just help us push towards the automatics, his build up play, contribute towards goals, just to help us achieve our objective, then it will be a success. Dalby has come into his own and hopefully him and Burstow start scoring now, our wingers are talented, have scored and can continue scoring important goals for us. I think we should have enough firepower now to start scoring more goals than we have done. Hopefully.   Quote

Burtow's goals v Wigan and Peterboro were proper shots. McAtee last season take your pick of goals from well hit shots at Crawley, Northampton and Stevenage and home games v Mansfield and Birmingham. He also "passed" 2 goals in at Shrewsbury and 1 v Orient - he tried the same at Wimbledon but got it wrong, it doesn't mean the idea was wrong just as hammering a shot might have gone straight at the keeper. Quote
bwfc6ix Posted February 3 Posted February 3 He's (Kenny) also only on loan until the end of the season. If he's shit, he doesn't come back next season. Easy. Quote

Kenny will play whether he works out or not, assuming we're not talking Etete or Dan levels. Quote
Dr. Feelgood Posted February 3 Posted February 3 IF we go up there'll be a lot of rebuilding to do. Some loanee may be renewed, some not. But getting to the Championship is the thing for now. We have a good, broad squad. It's good enough to be thereabouts. We now have the tools, we just need to use them. Performances and managerial coaching & tactics are needed too. Quote

kagni Posted February 3 Posted February 3 (edited) Fergal Harkin and Kenny's father played together for Finn Harps back in the day, wonder was that a factor in him choosing us over some of the other options? Edited February 3 by kagni Quote

Performances and managerial coaching & tactics are needed too. I think we're set up nicely. Think how much Schumacher has had to change virtually the entire team. Taken 2 windows. We've not overspent and brought in some experienced Championship level players. If it doesn't work and we stay in League 1, they go back. We wouldn't have been able to bring in those calibre of players otherwise financially and lucky we still have that pull as a football club. We've also got some good assets, young valuable players tied down beyond next season. To me this window has been massive and hopefully we will see the rewards. Brought in players that aren't really league 1 players and have much more experience at playing at a higher level than what we had before. Bonham, Rodrigues, Blackett Taylor, Apter all Championship players and some as we know have gotten promotions out of this division too. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Obviously, if Kenny isn't cutting it, he won't play. That said, none of our current crop have been prolific, and I reckon SS et al truly feel he can deliver straight away. Otherwise, there would be little point in loaning him at this moment in time. auckland_bwfc Posted February 3 Posted February 3 On one of their many message boards one bloke wrote his main asset was he was ALWAYS in the right spot. His YouTube reel backs that up and its the one thing we've missed a lot of the time when our runners always appear to far up or too deep on crosses. I think he'll bag a few. And he can score a fkin header too. Quote
Hoppy Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Agree with most, good transfer window couple of incoming players probably need a bit of getting up to speed but if we can win next two games Barnsley and Lincoln, big ask I know, but that puts second place well within grasp and we have the players to really put a good run together looking forward to great 2nd half of season Quote
Lt. Aldo Raine Posted February 3 Posted February 3 I can't honestly claim to know enough about the players we've signed to know whether we've had a good transfer window but it seems quite promising on the face of it Quote

If he doesn't play we won't know if he's cutting it 😀 With only a third of the season left, he'll play. As in, as much as any attacker - obviously with some rotation. His success is one of the main keys to our success, it isn't a free hit like the signing of Temple, it needs to work because we are lacking shots/goals if it doesn't. Quote
