Scott Arfield? Blimey. Always liked him but I thought he'd gone out to pasture a few years ago. In his prime he was a real athlete with pace and skill and from memory could tackle too - but he was no beast. Scored a few too both in the Prem with Burnley and in the Scot Prem with Rangers - he's certainly experienced.

A weird rumour but if he's got anything left in the tank I can sort of see why he might be linked to us/why Evatt might be interested.

Am liking the arfield thing.    As long as the blokes fitness levels are upto speed (which am sure will be treble checked),  I see a 12 month contract as ideal,   all the experience required.     Good call by evatt/markham

Be happy if Arfield's coming, bowt time we had a Scot in the team, watching few of his youtube vids he knows where the net is too.

Don't see the age thing as a big deal. Bannan at Sheff Wednesday is still doing it and probably first name on their team sheet.

Good spot. He is very similar to Morley only shorter although he's probably a bit busier. I'm struggling to see the value in buying him unless we can get a lot of money for Morley and put Kite on a lower wage. But as players go there's not much difference between them in playing style, defensive attributes or goal contribution and I couldn't see Kite holding down a regular starting place with us unless we fail to get what we really need to progress.

I know. Maybe I should have said signing instead of buying, but it's too early for me to be arsed with pedantry.

My only concern about Scott Arfield is that his historic excellent goal return - including at Prem level- seems to have dropped away last year in the MLS. Perhaps they're using him in a deeper role? Even if he was converted into a DM I can still see him doing a job in L1 if he's fit.
