Probably well aware she's no defence so is taking down as many fuckers as she can with her. Whilst her case is a decent amount of dosh there's still a few billion quid allegedly handed out in dodgy deals. She possibly feels hung out to dry whilst the rest of them skulk away untouched. Quote

I think (although not sure) difference with Mone is that her PPE wasnt fit for use. She disputes this btw but she would say that wouldn't she. Quote

Sweep Posted December 24, 2023 Posted December 24, 2023 I wonder if we'll be looking to appointed another new Home Secretary in the next few days.... James Cleverly, what a dick. And before the usual comes in with his whataboutry. I don't think he should be sacked, but he certainly should know better Quote

He probably regrets saying it - but IMO the person who leaked it should be the person getting the flak. It was a joke. A shit joke no doubt but a joke all the same. Quote

I agree, but his behind closed doors meeting was actually with "Politcal Journalists". If he didn't think one of them would leap on it, then he's been a bit daft. I'm not sure if Labour have had much to say about it, but I'm sure they will. I'm 100% sure it was said as an "off the record" joke, but I'm not sure that "off the record" exists anymore Edited December 24, 2023 by Sweep Quote

But this person was so outraged that they felt compelled to publish the conversation. I've heard the Labour responses which is as you'd imagine 'its a disgrace, shameful etc'. Probably a bit naive given his position but anything you say in jest can get blown out of proportion nowadays. Quote

Its like when Labour MP Jonathan Ashworth slagged off Corbyn in a conversation that he thought was off record Quote

I don't really think it matters particularly if it's said between four walls but I take your point. Have you considered a ministerial position yourself? 😁 I've been relatively impressed with James Cleverly as a politician so I'm prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt on this one. Only relatively impressed mind. He's not had much competition. Quote
Spider Posted December 24, 2023 Posted December 24, 2023 In any other government, what Cleverly has done wouldn’t even make the news. But 13 years of vomit, and you’re going to be analysed at every step. He’s done nothing wrong, except be a Tory in this instance. Quote
Winchester White Posted December 24, 2023 Posted December 24, 2023 Another Tory in being a dick shocker. Other than that, it was ill timed of course but nothing to get too worked up about. His missus might give him an earful though! 😄 Quote
