Kane57 Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 First goal was awful to watch. The lad just needed taking out yet Robinson and Beevers were too meek to do it Quote
DaveTheRave Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 We were outclassed. No surprise really. We did make their keeper make 3 decent saves though. I don't think Pratley, Karacan and Derik offer us much in midfield. No attacking threat and little defensive cover really. 3 points on Tuesday and things will seem a lot better. Come On You Whites!!! Mounts Kipper Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 For their first 2 goals it's the physicality where we were lacking. We lost out to challenges where we should be doing much better. Again not really to do with how much teams spend, It reallly was about what you spend, more money gets faster stronger better players and that's exactly what Traore was. Quote
Zico Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Everyone has been crying out for a change of formation though, an extra body in to make us harder to beat I wasn't there but based on the result it doesn't seem like the change in formation made us any harder to beat? Looks like we now need to cry out for the players to turn up and do a job Quote
Lostock Whites Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 First goal was awful to watch. The lad just needed taking out yet Robinson and Beevers were too meek to do it Exactly the case. I don't mind us being outplayed by clearly superior opposition. But I won't tolerate us just rolling over and allowing them all the possession in the world, and leaving 1 striker up front. No pressure on their team and no fight from ours. We will not get any results by playing that, never mind at home. The manager needs to set up the team differently. Quote

The manager needs to set up the team differently. we didn't roll over, our players tried to stop a beast of a player who would have destroyed experienced premier league full backs let alone a 20 year old making his first ever league start. Beavers forced him as wide as possible and he puts in a world class cross whilst being off balanced. We have to accept that better players are also physically stronger and have more pace.We can try to take them out but it isn't so simple Quote

Rizlar Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 The problem is in midfield sort that out and we stay up .I thought madine did ok just no support from midfield and that's out problem like somebody else said 2 cloggers in midfield then play 4 attackers and just go for it nothing to lose because at the moment we hopeless Quote
CMW Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 they did try and stop him , watch the first goal half hearted challengeslook at the reaction of the boro players.everyone of them ran to traore to celebrate his outstanding wing play and a cross which was put right on assombolonga head. Stopping him is not so easy as Marc Iles thinks ie take him out... Quote

Take note on Tuesday because Sheffield Utd certainly won't hold back on challenges Quote

No goals and three assists in 37 appearances at that level as far as I can see. He's a good player at this level (although again, 0 assists and 0 goals before yesterday) but the idea that there was nothing at all we could've done to stop him literally running through half our team, twice, is nonsense. kent_white Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Traore wouldn't have ever had the ball had Gary Madine not inexplicably misplaced a 6 yard pass straight to a red shirt on the edge of their box. Quote
frank_spencer Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Between the 2 goals I thought Robinson had him under control. We were on top when they scores the 2nd on the counter. From then our lot really switched off. You could see the confidence vanish straight away. If pratley wasn't 6ft plus he'd not get in the side. With Vela and now Derik injured it looks like we're stuck with him. Derik showed more determination and drive after he pulled up injured than pratley has for a long time. Quote

Forest are shit but they beat Boro and Traore didnt take the piss out of them Like many have said we dont have a midfield; Pratley and Caracan will not stop any midfield running straight through Two or three signings are needed and we have to get out of the embargo to be allowed to sign anyone Quote

birch-chorley Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 (edited) We keep talking about not doing the basics in terms of defending However good sides can make it look like the opposition aren't doing the basics when they are of inferior quality Man City made Liverpools defence look like a pub team yesterday Whilst we are under a transfer embargo and can only pay £4K a week we really are out of our depth when the big spenders turn up We need to dig in and play for a point a week until Xmas, if we can get the embargo fucked off we then have a shot Edited September 10, 2017 by birch-chorley Quote
radcliffe white Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 On the topic of embargo Even if lifted has anyone confirmed that we have any money to sign players transfer fees or even wages All I'm saying is we may not be in a much better position than we are now, the embargo is only half of the problem Quote
Morizio Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 A club under an embargo is a convenient reason for owners who don't want to spend any money not to. We've gone into this season like a boxer with a broken hand and his other arm tied behind his back. Quote
