A dodgey supplement from Holland and Barrett. Doctor advised me to have it when I was boozed to my eyeballs for 6 months after my dad died. It worked as my blood results showed improvement in functions

So not dodgy then?

In my late 20s I went through a phase of trying to limit hangovers by having a half pint of water with each beer

I'm sure it helped but I couldn't stop pissing all night

It was a short lived experiment

Last few months

1 beery night in April, 3 in may, 6 in June, 1 in July so far

Driest period of my life since drinking began

M&S are doing what I suspect is the same Czech import that Sainsbury’s were.

Its delightful.

costs a bit more though

Ta.  I’ll check it out although I’ll be drinking the real stuff for the next week or so. 👍
No pun intended.

3 weeks sober me. Its fucking shit.

Left it after my last fit. Tasted a beer my wife was having last night and it was lovely, but left it there.

The thought of ale at the moment (in the mornings) is repulsive. By the time I've come round and it's time for some grub of an evening, it can be quite appetising.

Totally shit mate, hate it.

Placebo is fine. No hangovers which, when I’m only drinking at weekends nowadays, are much more likely.

Anyway, you probably all got your milk thistle from Holland And Barrett or some such shite.

I use a Scottish dealer

Decided a few months ago to cut back on booze, reduce calorie intake (portion size and choice of dishes) and also exercise more.

Lost a stone and a half, hitting PBs on park runs and, most relevant for this thread, I don’t actually miss the booze. I still drink a couple of glasses of red on a Fri / Sat / Sun night and will drink when there is an “event” (birthdays, parties, match days). But knocked midweek drinking on the head.

Feel so much better for it. Like garlic bread, it’s the future.

I need to do this.
