  2. Imagine being Michael James, lifelong fan, knowing what you’ve done for the club and then hearing of this shit (hopefully he doesn’t). I wouldn’t be able to help myself, I’d be arguing with delinquents for hours a day. And these fuckers get to vote 🤦🏻‍♂️

  3. I don't necessarily agree, but I did just hear something mildly amusing... With both Jenrick and Braverman defecting, they've managed to vastly improve the average IQ of both Reform and the Conservative Party

  4. Oh what a good idea, the board that rescued the club the day before we went out of business and has kept us going since, to a point where were 3rd in the league. I despair.

  5. So the anti establishment party are quickly becoming the same Tory party that fucked the country over so badly. Funny that

  10. Assuming ACD is out and Sheehan is on the bench at best, I’d go Bonham Tutu Toal Forino GJ Conway Erhahon Simons Dempsey Burstow Dalby Maybe harsh on McAtee and I was saying he should get a run, but not knowing whether his fitness means he can start 2 games in 4 days and with Burstow hopefully getting some confidence from his goal, I’d start him alongside Dalby. edit - I’d also have a shoot on site policy. Lincoln’s first was a good shot from 20 yards out and 2nd was a shite bit of keeping that they put in after he spilled it. Don’t try and play perfectly through them every time, get round Dalby, get some shots off and get following in on the keeper.

  11. I was thinking the same, its become more of a grind this season with us, factors certainly including run of games against opponents with the same MO, poor officiating allowing games to descend into pantomime shithousing, and our collective loss of form / confidence, but there's a wider loss of enjoyment across the board that I see bemoaned across the socials by folk from clubs of all levels. The joy has been sucked out of Premier League football through VAR, in the EFL its more of the above, emphasis on grinding points out by hook or by crook by some coaches, other Poundland Peps turning their fans off with tedious attempts at 'possession based football' to satisfy some rich but dim owner who thinks its cool to have a 'vision and a project'.

  12. Right I'm putting this on here because one of our own WWs posters has done a brilliant good turn and I reckon he won't want to talk about it - in a DJ Smashey and Nicey style. Yesterday, he took an old fella (who is pretty much a stranger to him) along to the match. The bloke he took along is a lifetime wanderer but hasn't been able to go to the game for many years, because of his and his wife's ill health. So our mystery poster brought him along, and even took him in the players bar afterwards. I've seen a picture of the old bloke in question and he looked absolutely over the moon. Fantastic stuff and take a bow @royal white 👍👍 And another example of how even though we bicker and argue on here all the time. Fundamentally, I think we're all good people on here.

  14. Bad news for the young lad and none of us would have wanted this to happen. He has done really well for us and a big pat on the back to the kid. However we have to use this as an opportunity now. ACD is representative of a squad that is a little bit on the young side and since early to mid December that has often shown. In parallel we had become a little bit predictable in our formation and ACD himself had become a marked man. Hard to know how much dosh there is available and Fergal has to judge a lot of logistics - how many loans can we have (given Forss and ACD will return before May) is one thing that very obviously needs thinking through. However I think we now need to go for some experience and know-how. Proven ability, streetwise types. Not always straightforward. If we sign players in their later 20s on 2-3 year deals for a fee there is a sell-on value to considered. They also need to convert in to a Championship squad if fortune favours us come May. Or to put it another way we cannot afford to do what Huddersfield did 12 months ago with Dion Charles. Long and short of it there are going to be quite a few incomings. Let us use it as the chance to freshen up, become more flexible in our approach, bring leadership on to the pitch, take more of our chances and get some momentum going. The additions of Morais and Le Fondre in the Parkinson promotion season springs to mind.

  16. Yes but they might decide not to risk playing him in a couple of games at the end of the season and give him the whole summer for it to repair that would be the smart move from a Brighton point of view why risk him

  17. There's not a chance in hell he'd leave this window. He's the whole heartbeat of our team and only player who can control the ball.

  21. Cheers guys. Brian (80) was chuffed to bits to finally get to a game again and even after one of the worst 45 mins of football possible and him missing the first 2 goals he was still grinning like a Cheshire Cat. His wife also had a few house peace and quiet whilst he was out of the house! So it was a successful day all round!

  23. I’ll be there as usual knowing that is usually a 60 minute trip will take me 90 minutes due to the M60 traffic. Probably won’t get home ‘til gone 11 as well unless I leave before full time. The things we do.

  24. The ACD news is something to genuinely be negative and disappointed about. Our best player curtailed at a time we needed him. Gutted. We haven’t got anybody in the squad currently who can replace his talents. A chance for someone else. I’m just pleased we’ve got another system to use now, which suits some of our other players better.

  29. The meltdown on Twitter is of monumental proportions. SS said to Iles this morning we were looking to get forward additions in anyway but those efforts were being ramped up. I'm sure they are and they know who they want, things will probably look a bit different this time next week. In the meantime, if we can't find a way to get 4 points out of Burton and Wimbledon with what we've got we don't deserve to be in the shake up anyway.

  30. Think there have just been too many games in short period, we had 3 out of there Saturday. Will be same on Tuesday. Add in the not so great weather and people not having been paid since Xmas, who in their right mind is going to take the family to Bolton v Orient in the middle of January as a treat ? If you are paying for ticket on day you are doing in north of £100 for tickets and crap you buy on day to watch. Especially when we have Burton on Tuesday 😂😂

  31. Been a recurring fear of mine him getting injured. I know the injury wasn’t a direct correlation to the challenge on Saturday but a mixture of like you say, fixture congestion, work load, how he’s been identified by opposition teams and playing pretty much every minute of every game without any suitable support, I felt it was only a matter of when rather than if

  32. All great points. I also hate the fact that goals have almost become devalued, because they are getting handed to opponents by all this faffing around at the back, not to mention that marking seems to be a thing of the past. If the Prem league leaders can't even pass it successfully at the back (2 goals conceded this way in a couple of weeks), why are they trying it at L1 and L2 level? Someone scores, fantastic, well done, then you see the goal and you think, I could have scored that if I'd had the fortune to play against you. Its no longer an elite achievement to score against even the league leaders.

  33. There are a lot of good points raised and its an interesting discussion as to why folk might not go in person to games. However I'd question your assessment of our attendances this season. We played Orient at home on a comparative winter Saturday last season. Were there really many more there? The highlights I published on that thread suggest not. I even commented on Saturday pre-match that it looked busier than I expected, certainly nothing like an evening game or the Northampton 12pm KO. Remember Charlton at home midweek last Jan? (IEs last game). I'd be surprised if its so empty tomorrow. Also its not that long since we had huge crowds v Wigan and Bradford not seen for a long time, so I'd just question that the crowds have reduced. Obviously if the club actually published the attendances we'd be able to have a more informed discussion!

  35. Tell them its a really bad one, if they assess and say oh it's only a knock we could say "oh we thought you meant the player".

  36. I'd argue that the same applies to football across the board at the moment. The way the game is played compared to even 10/15 years ago is so different.

  37. 6-2 win for our lads on Saturday morning. We had a 5 week break over Xmas and new year and I've been really impressed with how well the lads have done coming back, thought it might be tough after such a long break but they've done really well, and really pleasing to see some of the passing and moving coming through. Had a couple of spells of play in each game after Xmas of 5/6 passes from back to front.

  40. Burton’s 5 included Reading, Plymouth and Lincoln away and Huddersfield at home. We’ve had a squad that has been so big, with so many not able to fit even in the match day 17 that we’ve been happy to trim it down - I can’t imagine Burton have that luxury. We’re 3rd and they’re 20th I accept there needs to be patience and to be honest, any win will do, but this idea that we’re hard done to with the number of games is a bit overly defensive of the team / performances. We weren’t shit on Saturday because we’d played 2 more games since Boxing Day compared to Orient - we couldn’t have wished for a better / easier run over the traditionally hardest part of the season. We were just a bit shit, but we won.

  45. One of my offspring seems to be very good at History academically. We were discussing how important it is, otherwise without that through narrative you are lost, because (and how sad is this) even though she's probalbly end up with an 8 in maths, she thinks the only way to survive is to go into finance! But as I said to her Im always amazed that folk dont know much about where they are from, how it was created and what happened locally. I said thats why being good at humanities is important, probably the most important thing, because as soon as we forget how we ended up here, dark shit starts happening. Its why people think Islam is a 'backward' religion without how it these counties ended up as they are. Its how America elects their current leader. Its why we blame 0.5% of the popultation for all our ills. Its why we don't hold our leaders into account. Or we do on a tragic level Its why we think 'every MP is the same' because the voting public looks to simple tweats rather than competence. Its why we'd rather try and score points online than just listen. But all of this is interesting.

  46. “Waring was sentenced to a total of 22 years, eight months imprisonment. He will serve 14 years, eight months in prison and the remaining eight years on licence” Un fucking believable, this skunk has nothing to give back to society, no amount of help will help him. He will be out whilst his victim is still in school. Thats a whole life term in anyone’s books. But no, fkin stupid guidelines.

  47. Does Lammy hold the keys and these prisoners have escaped whilst he was asleep? It happens and no doubt happened on the Tories watch and equally the equivalent Minister but they have no direct involvement in The case I pointed out Jenrick met the developer, claimed it was an accident he was sat near him when he was told of the developers issue and promptly intervened which he later admitted was wrong He's as bent as a dog's back leg, got found out abd is now trying to take some sort of moral highground Surely you can see the difference between the two
