Let’s be honest you’ve no idea about this have you? How do you know that Davies and Fawemo would have accepted L1 football? Or any of the other players for that matter. Yes you can have an opinion and of course some of them may have been targeted either way. But I’ve heard countless times from FH and SS that we will be targeting Champ quality players/loans towards the end of the window, because that’s just the nature of the situation. The alternative would be rushing to sign the wrong players just to have them in place for the 8th August. Your utopian scenario of having everything sorted and in place now just isn’t realistic and you do seem to have the same gripe every summer transfer window 😊 Have a little patience.
  7. Seems a bit young
  8. Right tickets purchased. Seems I may be a lone WWs representative so I’ll report back later 😊.

I reckon we did bin off Tutu, mainly because of his big gob brother leaking team news on Instagram.
  10. If anyone of that description turns up at your door, then its a quick cricket bat to the bolox and a call to the cops. 100% nonce

I suspect this game tonight has been a chance for SS and FH to weigh up the level a few of the younger lads like Warren and Inwood could be loaned out to. They've both done OK

They should have a mini-group stage for the minnows first - Curacao, Tunisia, Scotland, etc. - and then go straight into a group stage proper

He was at the end of his contract & in the window where he was permitted, he negotiated a contract with a new club. We didn't get the opportunity to bin him, he'd agreed to leave. Why is this complicated ? It happens. We've got players that way, we've lost some.

My apologies it’s Wednesday on the 8th not Nob End so yes an extra week and whilst I don’t expect us to have a full squad until the window finishes I’d still expect the majority in and up to speed with each other. Patience is clearly a virtue I don’t possess! 🤪
  15. Had an awesome Social Club , I heard .
  16. thanks for going over the context of the exchange again but it was unnecessary *understood it
  17. Its not just football though. Concerts, cricket, cinema, restaurants, tennis, family days out at theme parks etc, it all costs multiple times what it used to. I'd say watching Bolton has increased in price less than any of those, I used to pay about the same for S/T 20 years ago as I do now. I've been to Lancs v Yorkshire and the golf open in the last couple of weeks and the two tickets weren't far short of £200.
  18. If we go to 64 teams I’ll immediately hate it but like this WC might grow to like it Way I see it is this…. Champions League. Flawed from the outset. It isn’t. It used to be. But isn’t now. Needs taking back to its original idea then it’s a “Champions League” World Cup. It’s for the world. I’ve done a complete U-turn. Why should it be restricted to a small number of teams? Let it be a festival of football. Let the likes of Haiti, New Zealand and Cape Verde have a go. When else would we see them having a chance on a big stage? 64>32>16>8>4>2 Don’t overcomplicate it I’ve liked the fact that it’s been there in the background this summer. Yeah it’s taken a while but nobody’s forced me to watch stuff, stay up late, etc. All my choice
  19. Don't be silly FFS. Even more importantly, don't encourage an imbecile incapable of placing a cross in a box with a choice of only two. I will be raising these unfair comparisons at the next branch meeting of the Fabian Society I attend.
  20. There's always one fucking smart arse. Now it seems there are two. The Argies were shithouses and, like most of the world, I am delighted they lost to Spain. They made the biggest sporting match in the world one of the worst in memory. Thank fuck the one team trying to play football won. The party was amazing where we were. A shame to have to leave so soon after the event. Once again though, how close? Yes, bastardry and shithousery but they lost by one aet - arguably to the true best team in the world. I'd backed Spain too so everything is fine. I'll get in early, the four I'll be backing for Spain 2030 will include Spain, France and England. The other will be Germany or Italy. South Americans don't win it in Europe except for one anomaly in 1958. Ignore history at your peril Winners are grinners.
  21. Good run out that. Few fans and faces around. Not often you get away with wearing a T-Shirt at Boundary Park 😂 Hard to judge performances in a friendly like that. Probably easier to try and see who the starters might be against Preston. I’d be surprised if these 7 didn’t start; Bonham, Stephenson, Davies, Forino, Sheehan, Rodrigues, Dalby. Although I didn’t think Forino and Dalby were fully at the races tonight. The other 5 looked good. Not sure whether he’ll go Famewo or Conway at LB. The other midfield spot is up for grabs, Watson did ok tonight. Nothing we didn’t know but the wide positions and forward line needs some additions. Gale looked dangerous (as he should do against L2 opposition) Toby did himself no harm, great contribution when he came on.
  22. Warren is over age and counts towards the squad limit I think both need as much playing time as possible and this season that means going elsewhere
  23. Yes, Toby reminds me very much of a young Neil Whatmore and if he turns out anywhere near as good as that he’ll do for me. I thought Inwood looked good tonight too and what a big unit Temple is so hopefully he comes on as well? Warren was decent as well first half but Ruben was class again. Not sure what was wrong with Simons tonight but so slow and nearly cost us 3 times. Needs to sharpen up quickly if he’s going to win a place.
  24. There's a very good young player in there for sure. Second half was a bit of a mixed bag, understandably with all the changes, but the two young lads at the back did reasonably enough
  25. This response depends on recruitment but I wouldn’t loan them out, this season. Last season, there were times when they may have been on the bench, due to injuries to ACD and Johnston, but we couldn’t recall them. Inwood definitely and Warren maybe won’t count towards squad numbers. Furthermore, with the Category 2 status, our U21s will have a full and regular league programme, against much better opponents than our B team faced. As well as keeping them fit and sharp, it will give us options, if we hit an injury and/or suspension situation.
  26. Bol will gain confidence from knowing she narrowed the gap in the final straight. Werro has already beaten Bol twice and KH once. KH is not doing the Commonwealth Games so focusing solely on the European Champs. Hunter-Bell is doing CG 800.
  27. We can extend it for another year
  28. He finished last season well, and sounds like he’s starting this preseason well. Only a year left on his contract I think, so if he does well early doors in the league hopefully we can give him tied up on an extension.
  29. I was on the paddock that day. 3 Geordies came in, one had black and white stripes painted on his cut off jeans, absolutely steaming and giving it the "cmon ya Bolton bastards!". All the young lads, me included, suddenly remembered we needed to be somewhere else and backed away rapidly. Cue a dozen or so of the older blokes coming forward and piling in on em. It was brutal. All 3 were carried out in minutes.

Maybe change title of thread , I assumed you contacting the poster called Roadrunner Does anyone have video tape players anymore ? Yesterday my mate was round with his 19 year old daughter and we were talking about records. ‘What is a record ?’ She asked .
  33. I didn't until I asked the question on here
  34. W63, in that time you'll have spotted 20 or so quite splendid new options ... mostly from South Yorkshire ranging from children to virtually retired, from free to £12m players. It's what you do.
  35. Yep, and quite rightly Enough is enough, it's time to fight back
  36. Exactly that, and yet some people will still argue that all votes "should be equal" - should they fuck, these bottom feeding, gormless as fuck, fraudulently PIP claiming, croc wearing, vaping, social housing dwelling tramps shouldn't be let anywhere near the ballot box. Once they're "putting in more than they're taking out" then they can have a vote
  37. There’s an element of truth in what both of you are saying IMO. It’s very hard to quantify the quality per se, of both teams and players playing in the SPL. You can have players who can potentially be champ/prem standard or not even be L2 standard. So then it comes down to quality scouting… and luck. Even then there’s the massive unknown aspect which no amount of scouting can eradicate; how do they transition, how do they settle, does their personalities/character fit, will their skills and attributes flourish at a higher level? No recruitment is ever bullet proof, we’ll win some and lose some. Let’s hope there’s more Dalby’s and Kenny’s on the horizon as opposed to the Taylor’s and Baccus’
  38. Nothing like some loyal support from the site labour rep 😆 what are you basing your statement on? He’s not even been in a day yet and you’re saying someone who many have said is the worst PM ever being better than the one who’s been in a few hours.
  39. My overall take on the World Cup, putting England aside Enjoyed it. Highly sceptical about the new format but enjoyed watching these new (to me anyway) teams going for it in the early games Time zones aside, 3-4 games per day meant plenty to pick and choose from Thought VAR worked well in the main apart from a couple of glaring errors, and the refs were quite good overall Hydration breaks can go in the bin. Trump’s interference with the red card was disgraceful. Infantino is a cunt. But overall the negatives were minor Will admit I’ve gone from a highly negative view pre-World Cup to thinking that actually it was quite good
  40. Hopefully Healey properly funds the armed forces now he has the opportunity
  41. I understand it but I still think it's sad that this is what football's come to
  42. Interesting that, he resigned over Defence spending didn't he? Let's see what he does for Defence now he's holding the purse strings
  43. I get what you mean, but it's quite a high bar if only Spain, Argentina and France count as big/good teams. Holland two years ago & Norway this year are better wins than beating Germany at home in 2020. There aren't that many consistently good sides at international level. Beating everyone we arguably should as part of these 'easier' draws shouldn't be sniffed at and will get you there or thereabouts every tournament. Spain went out to Morocco (who also beat Portugal) and Russia at the previous two World Cups, Germany didn't get out the groups in Qatar and went out to Paraguay this year. The fact we've avoided these types of results for a decade is good going.
  44. Even the Portuguese here were - albeit reluctantly- supporting the Spanish. Ref was a little bit stronger than the one we had and the Argies were horrified when he had the audacity to card them - presume they were expecting the 30 or so overlooked fouls they’ve been getting. Very few people wanted Argentina to win after the favouritism they have been shown, me included.
  45. Worst World Cup ever? Come on it’s been fkin ace (the yank pomp aside) more games than ever, more goals, countries some folk had to google holding their own against some of the worlds best. Scotland going out in the group stages, amazing stadiums and to top it off Argentina losing the final and The Don on stage celebrating with the Spaniards!

  47. Burnham may or may not be able to change things to make the country better, to improve the lives and livelihoods of folks living here. But, no one can deny that there are ideas and an honest, genuine intent there. The guy deserves a chance. I can’t for the life of me understand why anyone would think that Farage, the self-serving, lying, grifter would do anything remotely positive. Chalk and cheese.
