One, off topic, remark.

I've long felt that the current fashion for celebrating a goal by sliding 15 yards on your knees is a horror injury waiting to happen.

It's a bollocks rule but it's still a rule

I'm not sure sliding on your knees to celebrate a goal is an actual rule, let alone a booking if you don't.

Could be wrong of course.

Meant as in the stupidity of things players do when they score

Thought it was obvious

Maybe not

Just watching the goals again, it was great control from Dempsey pulling the ball down for the 2nd goal

He’s a cracking little player is Dempsey, he’s coming on leaps and bounds this season.

Score five goals, take shirt off five times means a ban

For what

Seem to remember a West Ham player few years back, was already on a yellow, scores late winner so takes his shirt off, second yellow and he's off

I'd fine him a month's wage

I'd fine any player for any card that doesn't involve a tackle, denies a goal scoring opportunity or timewasting

I am a bit of a broken record on this subject Dempsey and Morley are proper midfield players both get up and down , none of this DMF , AMF crap. Lee fits in well with them as an attacking option and MJ or Lego-head as more defensive options. They can be AMF and/or DMF is we must.
Dempsey has had injuries but why Morley was dropped earlier in the season is still a mystery to me.

Think Morley is only 21. Type of player that can progress through the levels with us .

We have acquired some very good young players. Enjoyed the match yesterday. One slight criticism was that there was some show boating in the second half before the game was sealed. We are in a proper game at Derby where we need to be fully focussed and on it.

I think Aimson has to take a lot of credit, whilst pretty unspectacular himself, he just does the job and reads the game well.

However, he seems to have organised the back three/five, not only in defending well, but in giving Johnson and Toal the confidence to get up to the opposition box too, like Evatt wants.

Agreed.  If he was a regular starter when everyone's fit I'd be happy for him to be captain, seems like the right sort on and off the pitch, in a squad that isn't well off for vocal players or organisers (Jones in that bracket too).

Yeh Charles tried to knee slide close to the orange perimiter path, he probably thought there was more grass to be had there 😀

He soon cut his slide short when he realised there was no sliding to be had.

If we’d tried that celebration at New House Farm back in the day, we’d have needed skin grafts on our knees.

Certainly wet enough.

Do it now and you have the chance of added lubrication from dog shit and the chance of decorating your knees with shards of broken glass and strips of shredded ale cans.

Knees, slides, cartwheels, backflips all very tin pot

Do a shearer and get back on with the game ffs

Or a Kieron Lee or Toal, no messing about or making out its the winner in the world cup final.  Class acts them two.

Really good performance from start to finish.

great goals, great defending (clean sheet)

thought Dempsey was magnificent as were the lads at the back.

normally when you play a team twice in a few days you don’t win both - so really pleased.

hope dadis ankle is ok.

Is it something to do with sponsors logo being seen on TV and online when a goal scorer celebrates?

Just comes under ‘over celebrating’ although keeping your shirt on and deliberately trying to wind up opposing fans; think Dapo with birthday party hat at Ipswich, May be seen as a premeditated over-celebration but he didn’t get booked for it.

I think it came in to stop players revealing polticial or similar messages under there shirts

so a "ban" on all shirt removals was put in place

I think

Seem to recall a player and his wife losing their baby and the scorer revealed a printed vest, “Thinking of you, baby xxxxl” or similar. He revealed it to the camera and was booked. It didn’t go down well.

Yep, think it was prompted by Robbie Fowler showing a t shirt supporting the dock workers.

Coz if they got a nice pay rise then he could put up their rent in that mass of terraced houses he owns.
