Joey Barton said he would score 100 out of 100 penalties against Englands Woman Goalkeeper.....Not sure about that, but he would have a chance of saving 100

Some of the worst ever, in any form of football. Clinton's hardly reached the keeper

I think that's why the others blasted it

The one change for me that I think would improve the quality without it being made to look like a lesser product would be to reduce the size of the nets.

Outfield players are improving at an amazing rate but it’s still all too easy to see a ball just floated into the net over the keeper, which cheapens the whole product because it just gives an easy stick to beat the game with.

On average, men are about 10% taller than women, it’s a genetic fact. If they reduced the height and width of the nets by 10% - for no other purpose than reflecting the genetic difference to men - then I’m convinced you’d see a better overall product with little reasoning against it.

It must have been considered by the powers that be. Maybe it’s just me that thinks it’s a sensible solution to the keeper issue.

Except on penalties when they should be made 10% bigger

Very possibly, it’s been annoying me for a while because I think it’s just sensible and shouldn’t be controversial.

It's not controversial, but the average number of goals per game in the WSL is similar to that in the Premier League.

Even before you get into the logistical issues it'd throw up at grassroots level, it's not going to help the game from an entertainment perspective if it's suddenly full of 0-0s.

Women's football has taken a massive backwards step after that shootout.

Was watching it in the pub and everyone was just laughing.

For the life of me I couldn't understand why more didn't go for the Lucy Bronze technique, given the keepers were moving/diving so early.

Reduce the size of the nets? They would still be taking penalties now!

I agree the size of the nets should be dependent on average size of the players (whether that's men, women or kids).  But I've often thought the size of the goals in professional mens football should be in increased.  Without checking, I assume they are still the same size now as they were in the 1923 cup final?  Yet humans have grown by upto 10cm in the last 150 years, added to other factors like the athleticism of goalkeepers.

When you see a 6 foot 5 GK dominating the area and the goal, making impossible saves, I feel like we are being deprived of seeing more goals being scored, just because the nets haven't increased in size in proportion.  Same with the size of the pitches, but that's a different conversation and far less practical to change!

Shocking penalties. Perhaps settle games on a coin toss or reverse parking or sommat.

A load of crumpled shirts in a basket, and an ironing board at the other end of the pitch. So they get a shirt, and sprint to the ironing board, first to iron a shirt properly, and hang it on a cross bar wins - best of 3

The penalties will be recorded and replayed everytime equal pay is mentioned

I realise this is a football forum...but equal pay for women's tennis, what a joke.  Anyone that watched the two Wimbledon finals will know what I mean.  And the length of their matches is the equivalent of women's football being about an hour instead of 90 minutes, they must be embarrassed to get the same money as the men when they don't even get a sweat on.

I disagree ! This years women’s final was too one sided but that was freakish. We got tickets for Men’s finals Djokovic v Kyrigios and that was as as a game pretty poor

However it has to be measured on commercial terms. Women’s tennis whatever the quality attracts full houses all over the world. So ticket prices for Men’s finals day and Women’s finals day are the same. I can not think of any other sport where the Women’s game generates the same game receipts.
