You are right in some ways but Coleman has played 9 games in at least 4 of those - Northampton, Wycombe, Blackpool and Exeter has come flying off the line and ended up in no man's land. Having a keeper that does that affects the defence.

Exactly. Rewind to Billy Crellin being replaced by Matt Gilks for the effect on the defence.

Coleman has had some decent games though and made some crucial saves.

That’s better Cheese see being civil is nice I shall explain I am wrong to say they cannot pass as we are the best team in the league at the chuckle brothers pass to me to you over 2 - 3 yards what I should have stated the final ball in the last third at best is poor .
Williams is quick can score the odd goal and take a throw in but defending he’s poor he looks frightened to put a foot in as for Ogbeta not seen enough of him but what I have seen his final pass isn’t the best.
Ashworth is the best of a poor bunch at least he can tackle and scores the odd goal and his final ball is better than the others!

That's better Rizlar. No ridiculous declarations or over-reactions, just rational opinions. 👍

Would reaching the play off final be seen as progress?

I would say beating a Barnsley or Peterboro over 2 legs would be seen as progress.

But the thought of losing at Wembley in a play off final - I'll settle for no progress thanks 😀

I think a nightmare scenario play-off wise is playing Stevenage, and losing.  That would be a backward step.  It would still be a semi final defeat like last year but would have to be seen as going backwards (I'm being sizeist but it would be slightly embarrassing).  For that reason I hope we avoid them because there would be a big pressure/expectation on us to win; Barnsley could be argued to be favourites if we played them.

All the above is just in case we don't get top 2 BTW.

not if we lose

losing in the play offs again is not progress

being in league one next season is not progress

it's just one league game more than last season

if we won it yes😀

The owners want promotion that was clear in the summer

when you take into account the money invested compared to others then I don’t see FV being impressed if we fail

If we do not get promoted given the opposition and the position we were in pre Blackpool and Wigan week it will have been an incredibly disappointing season. Especially  with spending £700k on one player.

Yeah but we have had loads of possession and played loads of neat little passes sideways

All this talk of the playoffs when our form is 16th in the table over the last ten games - and just 5 points from the last 15 available. That's lose our playoff spot form.

It's simple. Improve or be part of the biggest collapse in our history. Improve a lot and we could make the autos. But right now we can't bank on anything.

9 points, 1 ppg, gives 80 points

Imagine limping in in this form though, wouldn't fancy our chances

Are you talking about playoffs? If so I would fancy our chances as long as key players are back, fresh and rested.

Oh i don't know?, if only we could capture the spirit of 92/3 season, we would probably have been happy with the play offs then but managed to get over the line and went on to a fantastic 20 years and built up the fan base to what it had not been since the 70s, things do sometimes suprise you!!!

Only if we don't lose to Oxford tonight as that would put them just 8 points behind us  - although TBF them getting 17 points from the last 24 to edge us out on GD is a big ask - but they won't lack motivation. The other three currently in the playoffs all have a game in hand on us.

In that respect, tonight's game could all but ensure a playoff spot for us if we win.

But you're missing the point I was making i.e. we have to improve on our current form regardless whether it's for securing a playoff spot, making a bid for the autos or having some momentum coming into the playoffs - because our current form is pants.

And the second point was that whilst our form is pants, it's impossible to be confident we'll win - hope. yes - but not confident.

Not a chance.

It's autos or bust for this lot, we'll get hammered first game in the playoffs by any of them.

The disappointing thing for me is that our position looked pretty good having games in hand, now we’re still 3rd and the 3 sides behind now have a game in hand on us

Them games in hand were a waste of time literally.

That said. 9 big ones left. Have to look forward. Play like we did in first half this sat for more than 45 mins and we win.

Huge week where we could be 5 clear of Derby or 7 behind.

This is what football is all about for me.
