Evatt really does have a plan B, shame we had to wait 2 years to see it. Williams and Maghoma both absolutely menacing Barnsley today, Maghoma is a must buy for me. Williams clearly marking himself out as first choice left wingback. Question from me though: Do we still win that 3/1 without the quality of Dion, Santos or Baxter as we had been for big chunks in the second half of the campaign? I'm not convinced, really underlines the fine margins. if we do get promoted i think there's going to have to be some significant investment in certain areas.

That performance today for me is also not just important to get us promoted, but for when we do get to the Championship.

In the Championship most teams will want to play and will press us high, it's been our Achilles heel and we've got to have a plan for it.

Today wasn't a perfect performance no, but there's genuine signs there.

That game today was an away performance and result that we have really been missing for some time. First top 6 away win in how long ?

At home they'll play high again and be going for it. We've got to simply set up the same way, but this time with better quality, play brave quick passes as well.

There's got to be a distinction between playing direct and then just lumping it at every opportunity.

If it is potentially Posh at Wembley, then improving these aspects will really suit as they play very high as well.

Let's get the job done Tuesday.

Felt we had to win and we did. Barnsley chasing 2 goals if we are on it could be a great night Tuesday. Anything less than 3-1 would of been criminal

Moody after the game.

similar gig as Blackpool, police sending us up that hilly car park down towards town even though we were parked near the EDSC other side of the ground! Straight into their fans near the bridge and it's kicking off everywhere.

great night tho.. It was bouncing in the EDSC before the game and that continued in the ground!

Can't see them overturning a 2 goal deficit on Tuesday as they were average at best.

Aye, that was shite and the coppers were no where to be seen at the bridge.

Said it a million times but there's not a team on this planet getting a top 2 finish with Bod and Collins up front and only a 37 year old available on the bench to change things.

Charles energy is irreplaceable. He plays at Derby we win.

Anyway stop being miserable. We won.  Get on with being happy about winning and save the bloody semantics for dull days in July waiting for friendlies.

Evatts always had a plan B by the way. We've just not been very good at implementing it :)

He's never happy about winning, amazed he's posted after that game.

Had an absolute skinful yesterday but woke up fresh & giddy as fuck and a few bruises from tumbling down the steps😀

Let’s finish these off with an early goal and we can be dancing on the pitch Tuesday

It's a Rivington mountain no vis day today, fine rain and mist.

It's cracking flags in our house though.

The wood pigeon who woke me at 5 is a top bird love him, probably the best bird on the planet.

My lads playing FIFA and singing a new song he's learnt off the match last night and life is amazing.

Happy Saturday to all.

This is ace but what's going on with the empty seats in the corners?!

That upper tier obviously holds more than the amount of tickets they gave us.

Couldn’t get tickets for me & the family so we watched it in the fanzone, didn’t know quite what to expect, but it was absolutely superb and a great atmosphere.

Hats off to the club & all the staff who worked there last night, it was brilliant.

Could of been proper dodgy the dark terrace streets were a fantastic ambush spot, heard a bit of commotion near the bridge thankfully we got back to our car in one piece, hopefully no one got a beating, cops sending us right into there fans could of been a disaster.

Was expecting them to have a pop at the convoy of coaches & minibuses but they disappeared, no doubt our youth will give them a send off Tuesday😀

What a fantastic save that was to keep us in the lead. Missed it live as I was having a piss but they had a 10 min period after their goal with wind in the sails and this save was amongst it. Just as important as our 3rd goal.

We’ve got Santos at the back
Aaron Collins in attack
We got Paris, Sheehan and Tommo
On the bench we’ve got Cameron Jerome’

To what tune?

Was certainly worth getting up at 2am! Never in doubt I thought. You can have all the possession stats you want but with no cutting edge it's useless.

Slight wobble when they got one back but never thought once we would lose that game. Baxters save was superb.

I have immediate family arriving over there next week. They will just miss Tuesday night but already have plans for a 'watch with atmosphere' for Wembley afternoon! They were up at 2am this morning too.

A few key moments where the game could have gone in completely different directions yesterday.

Maghoma’s shot off the line - pretty sure that finishes the tie.

Santos’s disallowed header - again, 3-0 finishes the tie

Baxter’s save - they could go on and win it with the momentum

They had another shot from outside the area a minute later which was flying into the bottom corner but Santos managed to stick his leg out and block it

Dempsey’s chance - at the time felt like a huge chance wasted to take the 2 goal lead into the second leg

Third goal from that corner which gives us all the momentum and hopefully kills their hope for the 2nd leg

We did see one lad take a slap, was going to go and help but a couple of coppers arrived at the scene and it quietened down.  It broke our little group up, Casino lost his bearings getting back to the bus. We waited feckin ages and had to pick him up miles away, he was half-way to Sheffield - 😀
