What's everyone up to then?

Speaking to vast amounts of customers and business owners, I get the vibe more people now than ever aren't feeling the love this year...

I always hate the build up and it cocks my work up, but I suppose it's all worth it on the day.

I was working in there this morning. Saw @victor meldrew but didn’t see you. Was busy when I landed at half 6. Busy but not mental.

Working the majority of it. Occupying my mind will hopefully stop me from crying as it’s my first Christmas morning without the kids as it is their dad’s turn. It’s fucking heartbreaking.

The kids live with us now (their choice) but I'm still dropping them round on Christmas Eve so they have the morning with their mum. Then picking them up at 2pm on Christmas day for lunch with us.

Working today - then off until day after boxing day.

Rapidly going to Ratshit.

F-i-l in hospital, with proper flu. Made it through the first night, which they weren't sure he would.

Has serious mobility issues and not sure he'll be allowed home before a care package is put in place.

M-i-l also has it, but is at home, rough as fuck. She's naturally worried, but is also getting a bit of a break.

My mum has now come down with the fucking lurgy too.

Fingers crossed we do get our meal on the day, or the turkey may get volleyed down the garden.

Please, please Ian, make sure we win these next couple of games. :)

Opposite way round for me, I prefer the couple of weeks building up, once the kids presents are open I’m just waiting for the Boxing Day games to KO.

Fkinell, I hope everything sorts itself out. I was  in hospital for an OP last week and ended up picking something up whilst in there (I assume I got it in there) 48hrs I was  out of it for, D and V, temperature, shakes. Started feeling semi human again yesterday

Not feeling it at all if truth be told.

My youngest is now 19, so there are no kids to deal with as my only grandchild lives in Australia.

My parents are in Spain for Christmas & New Year.

I had three (younger) brothers, one died this year, one lives in Canada and the other will be in Spain on holiday.

The mother-in-law will be having her first Xmas without her husband who died suddenly back in February and he was also her primary carer with her having MS and a load of other health issues. My wife and her brother have been looking after her since. The brother-in-law, however is away in France for Christmas, the wife is having to sleep over at her mothers over Christmas and I'll be having Xmas dinner there, along with those two, and our two "kids" aged 31 & 19!

Fucking Humbug.

Hang in there pal, for everyone's' sake, they'll be relying on you.

It's only a roast dinner at the end of the day.

Good Luck

At ours for Christmas, both daughters and eldest's kids who were supposed to be at their dad's this year but that is now changed, a couple of pints in the local whilst missus and youngest daughter go and sort the horses out then traditional Christmas dinner about 4:00pm. Roll on Boxing day for the match

We've had some family fall outs on both sides and the last couple of Christmases have been pretty "adversarial". No parents alive anymore to bang our respective heads together although I have tried to sort out a few times to no avail.

Result... Wife, dog and me are off to the beach at Sutton on Sea with a picnic comprising mainly of pasties and whist pies (Carrs).

Just spending  time with the expanding family as kids bring their birds around etc. love Christmas Day. Littlun is perfect age to  play with at 4 and all her toys/games.

Dont drink loads either on Xmas day. Never have done and I can’t pinpoint why. I think a bit of it is being fresh for Boxing Day, perhaps.

Looking forward to it now.

Blimey, I hope the NHS can cope with you being off for that long. You deserve the time off though, you've been carrying the NHS IT department for too long. Hardest working man in IT you
