Think they have but you can't just release folk. 

They'll go out on loan or touted to other clubs.

Retained lists are only ever those who are out of contract or returning to their parent club after a loan.

For obvious reasons, we're not going to advertise that x, y, & z are shite and we're desperate to get rid.

Well, you can, but it would cost a fortune and we wouldn’t be able to afford any replacements

Santos and Jones have both been great servants. Genuinely thought Jones was older given the general consensus was that his legs were gone 

Baxter probably the epitome of the entire squad. Terrific on his day yet injury prone, capable of some absolute howlers and ultimately didn’t look particularly arsed half the time.

i like to think there is just one big football whatsapp group and they send lists of players available in it. Arne slot fuming that he has to see that we have made Randell availability

By all accounts those conversations with players have taken place over two days, priority being those listed in the piece today, but also no doubt others who might fall into that next category, of likely not to be in plans for next season or having a fair bit to do to force themselves into them. 

We'll never be party to the nature of those chats and who they were with, but if it results in some being circulated as available, there's a process within the game for that to be done over the coming days and weeks.

There's due to be a recruitment meeting today apparently, of SS and his team and with Fergal no doubt having input from abroad
