Stig Posted September 23, 2025 Posted September 23, 2025 Ekitike getting sent off for taking his shirt off to show his name celebrating a random league cup goal against lower league opposition, so he misses the weekend premier league game, when his position is under threat from Isak, is just about the stupidest thing I've seen Quote

boltonboris Posted September 23, 2025 Posted September 23, 2025 This Blackburn / Ipswich thing. If they replay the match, they’ll surely have to allow anybody who had a ticket free entrance to the replayed / rescheduled game? Presumably, Blackburn will also have to contribute again, to the travel arrangements of the away side. Theyll have to secure, staff and police the stadium in line with safety license rules. all without any Matchday revenue. I’m no fan of Blackburn, but even without considering them being a goal up and a man up, it seems incredibly harsh. You can guarantee the EFL won’t put a penny towards their costs Quote

The general rule is that you only get free entry for the rearranged game if it was abandoned before halftime. Chances are they’d do reduced admission though and season ticket holders get in as normal. Quote

It's an unbudgeted extra game with no, or very very little additional income - So full matchday costs, and almost no matchday income Quote

Good to know Rovers fans will have to cough up again for their replay as well as forfeit their one goal lead and man advantage. Sweet. Quote
freds dad Posted September 24, 2025 Posted September 24, 2025 Nice to hear Ryan Lowe at Wiggin having a go at his players after last nights defeat. Quote

Red card still counts and player is banned as per normal. However, Ipswich can replay with 11 men. Scorer loses his goal, too. FL are a joke, making stuff up as they go along. Quote

As it is not us and is Blackburn on the receiving end 🤣 If this was us however I would be seriously pissed off at their bullshit. They don't help themselves do they? bwfc2003 Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 hasnt it always been a rule that an abandoned match had to be replayed - the full 90 mins?? Quote

Eddie Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 How does it make any sense to just pick parts of the game that remain? I understand the question around replay or effectively carry on, but once you’ve decided that surely it’s pretty easy to see that either what happened in the game is null and void and we start again, or it’s all still as was and we pick up where left off? That red card thing is just baffling. Quote
DirtySanchez Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 If ipswich win the replayed game they would have had effectively 170 minutes plus any added on to get a result from one game whereas other teams had 90 and not had the benefit of a red card effectively rescinded If they then sneak in automatics or play offs by one point there may be some seriously pissed off teams Don't care how far away ipswich is from Blackburn, should be 11 minutes with ten men Quote
