Maybe the club should look at pricing blocks of games as a ticket deal preseason for those who can't do every game but might do say 10 games, these games could be any game and at a high price per game than season tickets but less than individual game by game purchase also they could pay monthly to keep costs low, so say 10 games in east lower for £200 and flexibility to chose any 10 league games.

That'd be a great idea. Not sure if its worth it for the club but I'd be up for that.. with working a lot of weekends would suit me down to the ground.

I get the marketing stuff. Often it's inviting me to upgrade but more often it's too remind me who thethe next opponents are.

As a season ticket holder I reckon I don't need telling when I need to turn up.

Problem is we have a BIG game (unlikely I know) and the club don't know who is and isn't turning up so don't know how many tickets we have available, so you've have to book in advance. Which will be an admin nightmare.

Yep, it isn't feasible unless you get essentially a ten game voucher that you have to cash in for each game you want to go to at the ticket office in advance of any game for an actual match ticket. But that would probably add extra hassle to the system for buying tickets.

Match bundles for non-ST holders.

Or if you attend 2 unattractive games, you get a voucher from each and 2 vouchers gets you a freebie to a better game.

Shit games first, obvs.

ie midweek games v Boro & Rotherham

One way round it is you pre book your 10 games up front..technology permitting.

Risk is some season ticket holders find the 10 game bundle more preferable to a season ticket.

I am a ST holder but never get any mail from the club apart from confirmations when i buy away tickets.

I don't get emails either but I think the club have my 'signing up to mailing lists' email rather than the one I actually use.

If their emails are owt like the website you'd be better checking newsnow

This is why you never let punters set ticket prices.

Ahhh the socialist ticket seller from theatreland is here, go on what would you do if one of your shows was paying to less than half full venues ?

In many ways this sooo different, this is about how we go from a club with a hardcore of 12000 to a hardcore of 15000, so this is about generating long time commitment and support from a generation who see the £5 billion premier league as the home of football.

You want me to pay top dollar and be surrounded by thousands of freeloaders? Fuck that.

as a seadon ticket holder I have no issue with offers but if the club shove 50 coach loads of kids in the ground for fuck all make sure it's no where near me.

Fairly sure theatres with a university close by will have a system where they turn up and hope they get in cheap.

Which isn't a long way from quid a kid or five a mate.

All kids tickets should be in one section imo

Another thing is that, the people with 10 match tickets would largely choose the same 10 most attractive matches, which would do nothing to address the problem of thousands of empty seats at a mid-winter night match v Fulham which nobody would select as one of their 10 games.

Possibly, but my guess is that those who would commit up front to ten games probably are doing it because they would like a ST but can't reliably make every match or don't really want the hassle of going every time. I've had a ST in the past where I was working in London 3 or 4 days a week sometimes weekends and only managed about half the home games with my neighbour borrowing my ticket when I couldn't go. So I'd have probably gone for the ten ticket option but probably wouldn't have been able to pick 10 games I'd have liked to watch.

The problem with that system is if we do well and gets near the end of the season and everyone wants to use up the last game on their ticket for the promotion decider or whatever the club have to put in place timescales for when people can claim tickets before putting them on open sale. Just becomes a lot of extra ballache for possible little to no gain for the club.

Ten match tickets work alreet in non-league.

Wont work for us

I think it would work even if we limit the number available to 5000 with only around 10,000 season ticket holders there are enough seats available at every game. The logistics of sorting out the tickets shouldn't be that difficult in this day and age, and if it guaranteed 5000 x £200 income that would be invaluable income.

I suppose you'd have to say you have to have so many cat c and cat b games tied into it. You could boost the crowd for some crap games too doing that. For me personally I'd be happy to book the games at the start of the season. Like people have said its prob not worth the ballache for the club. It'd prob get a few more going to a couple more matches but then season ticket holders might go for it too.

The aim was for more ST holders though... Not to get some of em fooking theirs off for a JCL ST

There's a lot of people for many reasons who can't do every game they should be catered for and this would be a good option rather than lose them completely because a season ticket does not suit their particular lifestyle.

This is a good point. not taking the piss at all here but there is a much larger amount of fans in and around Bolton on the "lower end" of pay scales. sadly sacrifices need to be made. if it is the difference between a full family day out and going to the match i know which i would pick.

this doesn't make you less of a fan by any means just means your priorities / circumstances are different

Does this mean I can fuck next year off and not feel the backlash from glasback johnny come latelys like you?

Need to go big, no half measures... £5 adult and £1 per kid under 16. fuck the  moaning sT holders. they will be back whatever.

If you fancy doing say, one game a season, but don't want to pay full whack, simply find twenty two like-minded people and all chip in together for a ST. There would have to be a drawing of lots to decide who gets what match, and perhaps some horse-trading in future if your or others' match happened to fall on an inconvenient date etc.

If you fancy doing say, two games a season, but don't want to pay full whack, simply find eleven other like-minded people and all chip in together for a ST and the tickets for the first game of both the cups. There would have to be a drawing of lots to decide who gets what match, and perhaps some horse-trading in future if your or others' matches happened to fall on an inconvenient date etc.

If you fancy doing say, three games a season, but don't want to pay full whack, simply find seven other like-minded people and all chip in together for a ST and the tickets for the first game of both the cups. There would have to be a drawing of lots to decide who gets what match, and perhaps some horse-trading in future if your or others' matches happened to fall on an inconvenient date etc.

If you fancy doing say, four games a season, but don't want to pay full whack, simply find six other like-minded people and all chip in together for a ST and the tickets for the first game of both the cups. There would have to be a drawing of lots to decide who gets what match, and perhaps some horse-trading in future if your or others' matches happened to fall on an inconvenient date etc.

And so on and so forth...

If you want to go with your mates, then the process must be repeated with them, and more similarly minded people, when you draw the lots you get put in the same pot, or sommat...

It's foolproof and doesn't push ST holders' noses out of joint.
